For the Dean post, the notification also lists two desirable points: published work or innovations showing contribution to research, teaching or extension education, and administrative experience at Professor level or higher. These are not compulsory, but they carry marks on the scorecard.
Every Assistant Professor post needs at least 55% marks (or grade 6.50 on a 10-point scale) in the Master’s, with a good academic record. That means second class (55%+) in Master’s and Bachelor’s, and no third division anywhere from Higher Secondary onwards.
You also need a NET from ICAR, UGC or CSIR in your discipline. A Ph.D. awarded under the UGC Regulations, 2009 or later exempts you from NET. For Assistant Librarian, the NET is from UGC/CSIR, or a UGC-accredited SLET/SET, with the same Ph.D. exemption. Candidates registered for Ph.D. before 11 July 2009 are also exempt, but only if all five conditions of the notification are met (regular mode, two external examiners, open viva, two published papers, two conference presentations). A post graduate with a Ph.D. has the easiest path here.

Age is counted on the last date of the online application, 14 November 2026. ST, SC, OBC, women and Divyang candidates get relaxation as per Chhattisgarh Government rules, but only if they are bonafide residents of Chhattisgarh. New hires are on probation for 3 years as a temporary appointment and will not be transferred during that period. The Dean post is on a tenure basis of up to 5 years or till age 62, whichever comes first. Pension is under the New Pension Scheme (NPS) of the Chhattisgarh Government. After probation, pay is fixed as per the university norms. A Dean at Level 14 earns well over twice the starting pay of an Assistant Professor, so the experience bar for that post is also much higher.

For Assistant Professor and Assistant Librarian, the scorecard gives 80 marks from your uploaded documents (education 55, academic excellence 10, co-curricular 2, publications 8, experience 5), 5 marks for knowledge of Chhattisgarh’s agriculture and climate, and 15 marks for the interview. The Dean scorecard also has 80 marks on documents (publications 26, academic excellence 30, administrative experience 10, education 8, awards 6).
Think of the scorecard as your real exam. The biggest chunk for Assistant Professor is 55 marks for education, so your marks in 10+2, graduation, Master’s and Ph.D. matter a lot, and a NET in your subject carries 5 of them. Start by working out your own score from the published scorecard, and then decide which post fits you best.
Objections are accepted only on documents you uploaded with the form. You cannot add new papers later, so check the preview before the final submit. The university may also fix its own criteria for calling candidates.
