Reservation is ST 20%, SC 16%, OBC 27% and EWS 10%, but the OBC 27% share is currently sub judice. Because of this, MPESB has printed every post’s reservation table twice — a main table covering 87% of the posts (OBC counted at 14%) and a provisional table for the remaining 13%, which will be settled only by the Hon’ble Court’s decision. Educational Qualification
- The basic requirement is a Bachelor’s degree in the subject prescribed by the recruiting department’s own rules.
- A plain pass degree is not enough for many post codes. The rule book prints a minimum percentage or division against individual posts — Assistant Sub Inspector (530 posts) needs a graduate degree with at least 50% marks, several posts require 60%, some require a first division and others a second division. Check the bar printed against your post code before you rank it.
- For computer-linked posts the requirements are stacked, not alternatives. Post code 102 (Computer Operator cum Assistant Grade-3, 124 posts) needs a graduate degree and a minimum one-year computer diploma or certificate and a CPCT certificate passed with Hindi. Some posts require BCA or PGDCA as the second item. The only relaxation printed is that BCA or MCA holders are excused from the separate computer diploma — they still need CPCT. - Some posts ask for a specific subject and a specific division. Investigator / Block Level Investigator (82 posts), for example, needs a second-division graduate degree in Commerce, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or Sociology — or, as an alternative route with no division bar, a postgraduate degree in any one of those same subjects.
- Live registration with a Madhya Pradesh State Employment Exchange is compulsory for every post in this advertisement. Please complete this before applying.
- Your qualification must be complete on the date you fill the form — anything acquired later does not count.
Patwari (Divyang Special Recruitment) has its own rule chapter. You must be a citizen of India and a local resident of Madhya Pradesh — MP domicile is compulsory for this post — and the age band is 18 to 45 years for all applicants. You need a graduation degree, a CPCT score card with Hindi typing and computer proficiency, and a valid disability certificate. If you have not yet cleared CPCT you may still be selected, but you must pass it within the 3-year probation period, failing which the appointment is cancelled. Visually impaired candidates are not eligible for Patwari, and the qualifying mark is 40% for every category.
Age Limit
Age is counted as on 1 January 2026. The relaxed limit of 45 years applies only to Madhya Pradesh domiciles. Candidates from other states are treated as unreserved, get no age relaxation and no fee concession, and may apply only against unreserved/open vacancies. Also note EWS candidates get no age relaxation at all, though they do get a 10% relaxation in qualifying marks.

45 years is not an absolute ceiling. Under Rule 14, candidates in the priority categories — ex-servicemen, dependants of soldiers disabled or killed in the India–Pak conflict, surplus and census-surplus staff, work-charged employees, NCC ‘C’ certificate holders and Indian citizens from Burma and Ceylon — may sit the exam up to 55 years, and they also receive 5% extra marks on their score. Contract officers and employees are likewise capped at 55 years.

One clause you must read before you celebrate the pay scale: under the MP General Administration Department circular dated 12 December 2019, newly appointed candidates draw only a stipend during the three-year probation — 70% of the minimum of the pay scale in year 1, 80% in year 2 and 90% in year 3. Full pay in the pay scale starts only after probation is completed successfully, and this applies across the posts in this advertisement, including Patwari.
So a Level-6 post advertised at ₹25,300 – ₹80,500 actually pays around ₹17,710 a month in your first year. It still builds into a secure state government career — just plan your first three years around the stipend, not the scale.
What is the Selection Process for MPESB Group 2 Sub Group 4 2026?
Selection is through a single computer based test (CBT), and there is no interview. The merit list is built on a percentile basis along with the post preference order you filled in the form.
- Online computer based written exam — one paper of 200 marks in 2 hours, with objective multiple choice questions in Hindi and English.
- Result and merit list — prepared on percentile and your post preference order.
- Document verification and appointment — handled by the concerned recruiting department, not by the Board. Your eligibility stays provisional until the department checks your papers.
- Patwari candidates additionally go through district allotment and a single counselling round, plus disability certificate checking by the District Medical Board.

There is negative marking. Each correct answer carries 1 mark, and 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer. With 200 questions, blind guessing will cost you — attempt only what you can reason out. The minimum qualifying marks are 50% for unreserved candidates and 40% for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD and EWS candidates. If the exam runs in more than one shift, MPESB applies normalisation using the Normalised Equi-Percentile method. How to Apply Online for MPESB Group 2 Sub Group 4 2026?
Applications are online through the MP Online portal for almost everyone. Follow these steps:
- Visit the MP Online portal (direct application link given in the Essential Links section below).
- Open Citizen Services and then the Application option for this examination.
- Fill your personal, educational and category details carefully.
- Set your preference order of four exam cities — this is compulsory. Only 11 cities are on the list, and the Board may still allot a different one.
- Record a preference for every post you are eligible for — this is compulsory, not optional. Any post you leave out is closed to you permanently, even if you score a higher percentile. And order it carefully: once a post from your list is allotted, you stay on the waiting list only for posts ranked above it.
- Pay the examination fee online by debit card, credit card or net banking, or through an MP Online kiosk.
- Save and print your submitted application; you need the application number for the admit card.
One important exception to the online route: candidates from the Baiga, Sahariya/Sahriya and Bhariya special primitive tribes applying for non-executive (अकार्यपालिक) posts must send a hard-copy application in Format-2 of the rule book, with all certificates, directly to the concerned department by the last date — an application sent to ESB will be treated as invalid. For executive (कार्यपालिक) posts these candidates get no exam exemption and must apply online in the ST category.
Keep ready a colour photograph not older than three months, your signature and handwriting sample, your 8th/10th/12th marksheet as date-of-birth proof, your category or disability certificate, and the handwritten declaration. If you choose more than one post, upload the qualification certificate for every post chosen. The correction window runs 4 August to 23 August 2026 at ₹20 plus a ₹40 portal charge each time — but date of birth, application number, transaction ID, mobile number and email ID can never be corrected, and a wrong date of birth gets the application cancelled with no refund. On exam day, Aadhaar registration and biometric verification are compulsory, your Aadhaar must be unlocked, and you cannot leave the exam room once the exam starts.
