The 70-year limit applies during the contract, not only on the day you apply. The engagement shall not continue once you turn 70, so if you are 69, your contract can end early.

Your monthly honorarium depends on how many visits you actually make within these limits. Consultants get only the consolidated honorarium and the benefits the scheme names, nothing more.
