The eligibility is simple and open to a wide range of candidates:
- A graduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university.
- The graduation must have been completed (with the passing or final-year mark sheet dated) between 01 January 2022 and 01 June 2026.
Candidates must be freshers with no prior apprenticeship or one year or more of work experience after qualifying. You can apply for only one state, and you may be posted at any office of the relevant Regional Office within that state, so choose your state carefully. A valid email ID, mobile number and Aadhaar are needed to complete the application.
Age Limit
The candidate’s age must be between 21 and 30 years as on 1 June 2026 (born between 02 June 1996 and 01 June 2005). Upper-age relaxation is allowed as per rules:
- SC / ST: 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years
Stipend & Salary – NIACL Apprentice 2026
The apprentice stipend (salary) is fixed and paid every month directly into the candidate’s bank account.
- Monthly Stipend: ₹12,300
- Apprenticeship Term: 12 months
This is purely a training engagement — apprentices are not employees of NIACL and have no right to claim permanent employment after the term. There is no Provident Fund or other statutory benefit, and the stipend is the only payment made. Still, the hands-on experience and the apprenticeship certificate awarded by the BFSI Sector Skill Council add real weight to your resume and improve your chances in future banking and insurance recruitment exams.
Selection Process – How Are NIACL Apprentices Selected?
Selection is based on an online test followed by a language test and document verification.
- Online Written Test — 100 questions, 100 marks, 60 minutes. It has four sections: General / Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative & Reasoning Aptitude, and Computer Knowledge (25 marks each).
- Regional Language Test — you must be able to read, write and speak the local language of your chosen state.
- Document Verification and a basic medical fitness check.
Candidates equal to about three times the number of training seats per state and category are shortlisted for the language test, so your online test score matters a lot. You can review general exam preparation tips to get ready for the online test. The regional language test is important too — if your 10th or 12th mark sheet shows you studied the chosen state’s local language, you may be exempted; otherwise you will be tested at the verification stage.
