Please note three things. Deputy Manager (Civil Construction) has no ST seat. Assistant Manager (O/M) and Engineer (Electrical Erection) have no SC seat. So an SC candidate cannot use those two posts, and an ST candidate cannot use the Civil post. PwBD reservation applies to posts A to E as per Government guidelines, but Assistant Officer (Safety) is not identified for PwBD candidates. NTPC also says the number of vacancies may increase or decrease as per its needs.

Look closely at the training period. For the three Deputy Manager posts it counts, but for Assistant Manager and Engineer it does not count. The advertisement does not list an experience requirement for Assistant Officer (Safety).
If you already work in a Government department or PSU, extra rules apply. For the Deputy Manager posts, at least 2 of your 8 years must be in the pay scale of ₹60,000 – ₹1,80,000 or above (NTPC E3 or equivalent). For Assistant Manager, at least 2 of your 5 years must be in ₹50,000 – ₹1,60,000 or above (NTPC E2 or equivalent). Candidates from Government or PSU jobs, including the Engineer post, must submit an NOC from their employer while applying.

Age, experience and qualification are all counted as on 13 October 2026, the last date of online application. For PwBD candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by 10 years where a vacancy is identified for that category. Age relaxation for Ex-Servicemen is as per Government guidelines.
