Of the Civil posts, 612 are backlog vacancies and 138 are current vacancies of 2025. For Mechanical, 4 are backlog and 4 are current. Knowledge of Odia
You must be able to read, write and speak Odia. You must have passed Middle School with Odia as a language, or Matriculation with Odia as medium in a non-language subject, or Odia as a language in Class VII, or an Odia test of M.E. School standard by the School & Mass Education Department / BSE Odisha. The certificate must be issued on or before submission. OPSC may also test your Odia during the interview.

You get only one age relaxation even if you fall in more than one category (except PwD). Outside these cases, the age limit can in no case be relaxed. PwD candidates below 40% disability get no relaxation. SC / ST / SEBC relaxation is only for people of Odisha, and your date of birth is taken only from the HSC or equivalent certificate.
What is the Salary for OPSC AEE Civil and Mechanical 2026?
The notification places both posts in Level-12, Cell-1 of the Pay Matrix under ORSP Rules-2017, with usual dearness allowance and other allowances sanctioned by the Government of Odisha. The notification does not print a rupee figure, so we are not giving one either.
You will be on probation for two years from joining. Since this is a Government of Odisha job, you will be covered by the National Pension System (defined contributory pension), not the old pension scheme.

How to Apply Online for OPSC AEE Civil and Mechanical 2026?
This is a two-step process: you first register on the OPSC portal (e-Chayan) and get a PPSAN number, then fill the application for your post. Both are reached through the official OPSC website (link in Essential Links).
- First, register on the OPSC e-Chayan portal through the official website. Complete Registration / Re-registration with your personal details.
- On successful registration you get a unique Permanent Public Service Account Number (PPSAN). Note it down — the application cannot be completed without it.
- Now open the online application for AEE (Civil) or AEE (Mechanical). Civil applicants must choose Departments in order of preference — this choice cannot be changed later.
- Fill the form and upload your photo, full signature, left-hand thumb impression, QR-coded GATE score card, Annexure-I affidavit and other certificates. No fee is payable.
