RRC NCR GDCE 2026: ALP, Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk, Junior Engineer & Other Posts for Serving Railway Staff
The Railway Recruitment Cell, North Central Railway (RRC NCR), Prayagraj has released the GDCE Notification No. RRC/NCR/GDCE-01/2026 for 656 vacancies. The posts include Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP), Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk, Junior Engineer, Technician and Junior Clerk cum Typist. This is a departmental exam. It is not open to the general public or fresh candidates. Only serving regular NCR and BLW Varanasi employees can apply, and the notification covers Railway Jobs at Levels 2 to 6.
Applications run from 1 October 2026 to 30 October 2026 (23:59 hrs). A corrigendum dated 16 October 2026 also lets eligible, serving and regular employees of Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), Varanasi apply, and the last date did not change. PwBD seats sit inside these totals: Technician 4, JE 8 and Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk 6, with ALP not applicable. Annexures E and F disagree on two PwBD seats (Technician-III Fitter WS and JE Drawing & Design), so confirm with RRC. Vacancies are provisional and may rise, fall or become nil.
What Is the Eligibility for RRC NCR GDCE 2026?
You must be a serving, regular railway employee with lien in North Central Railway (BLW Varanasi regular employees are added by the corrigendum). There is no minimum service condition. The corrigendum changes nothing else, so read the lien wording in the notification carefully.
- You can apply for posts in a higher grade than your own. If you are in the same grade, you can move only from Non-Safety to Safety or Safety to Safety posts.
- You cannot apply for the post you are working on right now.
- Your date of birth and qualification must be updated in your Service Record and HRMS.
Educational Qualification
Hold every qualification on 30 October 2026, endorsed in your service record. Those awaiting results should not apply. Diploma or degree is not accepted in lieu of ITI or CCAA for Level 2 Technician posts unless specified, and a Graduate Act Apprentice is not accepted in place of CCAA.

If you hold only 10th pass with ITI, you can look at ALP and Technician-III posts. Staff with 12th pass can target the clerk posts, and those with a Diploma can target JE.
Age Limit
Age is counted on 1 January 2027, with both dates inclusive. The minimum age is 18 years, so you must be born on or before 01.01.2009.

SC, ST and OBC-NCL candidates applying against unreserved vacancies get no age relaxation. The text says 45 years for OBC though one table header says 47, so follow 45, which matches the birth date. Keep a birth, Class 10 or school leaving certificate showing the same date as your service record.
What Is the Salary for RRC NCR GDCE 2026 Posts?
The notification gives only the 7th CPC Pay Matrix level of each post, not basic pay amounts, so we quote no figure.

Selected employees can be posted anywhere in North Central Railway. Medical standards differ: ALP is A1, Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk B2, Junior Clerk cum Typist C2, and Technician and JE posts A3, B1 or C1. Failing the medical means you are not empanelled.
What Is the RRC NCR GDCE Selection Process 2026?
Selection is on merit through these stages. Dates are not announced yet, so watch the RRC website. RRC also keeps the right to add more tests at any stage.

Every wrong answer in the CBT costs one-third of a mark. The CBAT carries no such deduction (para 5.2). Minimum qualifying marks are UR 40%, OBC-NCL 30%, SC 30% and ST 25%, with 2% relaxation for PwBD in case of shortage. Is There an Application Fee for RRC NCR GDCE 2026?
The notification does not mention any application fee, so we cannot quote one. Check the online form before you submit. The notice warns against fake websites and job racketeers.

Apply online only. Do not post printouts or certificates to RRC.

- Click on New Registration and enter your personal details, your own email ID and mobile number.
- Note the registration number and password sent by email or SMS.
- Log in and fill the form step by step, giving your post preferences and ITI trade or JE exam group.
- Upload your photo, signature, certificates and the Employee Service Certificate (Annexure I) verified by your immediate supervisor.
- Submit before the closing time.
Keep your email ID and mobile number active throughout, as they cannot be changed after submission. Apply early, as the website can slow down in the last days.
