RRC Hubballi has released the General Departmental Competitive Examination (GDCE) Notification 01/2026 for 258 vacancies: Goods Train Manager (Erstwhile Goods Guard), JE Bridge, JE P.Way, JE Mechanical Workshop and JE S&T Signal. These posts fill 25% of the Direct Recruitment quota through an in-service route.

Who Is Not Eligible for SWR GDCE 2026?
- RPF and RPSF personnel cannot apply.
- Law Assistant, Catering Inspector and Accounts cadre staff cannot apply.
- Candidates who are only appearing in or awaiting the result of the final exam need not apply.
- Send only one application. More than one makes you liable for disqualification, even if you are selected by mistake, and you will not be considered for selection under this notification.
- If you are not willing to be transferred, do not apply. You cannot choose your Division or Unit.

What Is the Eligibility for SWR GDCE Recruitment 2026?
Educational Qualification
You must hold the qualification on the date of the notification, and it must be endorsed in your Service Register. A higher qualification is also accepted. Zone of Consideration
Staff working in posts at lower levels than the advertised posts can appear. Staff at the same level can appear from non-safety to safety categories, and from safety to safety categories. No minimum years of service are prescribed. PwBD employees can apply on their own merit, without relaxed standards, for relevant posts other than Goods Train Manager and JE / Signal / S&T.

SWR GDCE 2026 Salary: What the Notification Says
The notification does not state any Pay Level or pay scale for these posts, so we are not quoting one. Selected employees will get initial training of the same duration as direct recruits. Check the pay of the posts with your office before you decide on your preferences.
What Is the Selection Process and CBT Pattern for SWR GDCE 2026?

The CBT date is not announced. It will be advised at short notice by SMS, email and the website, so treat this notification as your alert notice. E-admit cards will be available on the website before the test. The standard is like the direct recruitment exams of RRBs. Questions come in English by default, with Hindi, Urdu, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi and Konkani available. The English version prevails if there is any doubt. Every wrong answer costs 1/3rd of the marks for that question. Minimum qualifying marks are 40% for UR, 30% for OBC, 30% for SC and 25% for ST. A tie goes to the older candidate, and then to alphabetical order. For JE posts, the Technical paper follows your chosen Exam Group: Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Civil and Allied Engineering.

Keep a recent JPG colour photograph (under one month old, signature below it), a photo of your signature (each up to 5 MB) and your educational certificate in PDF ready. You also need an active mobile number and email ID, as all messages go by SMS and email only.

Fill the form truthfully: false or hidden information, or more than one application, leads to rejection, and an invalid form (no photo, signature, certificate or required document) is summarily rejected. Cheating or misconduct at any stage can end your candidature and bring disciplinary action, and carrying a gadget into the exam hall, even switched off, means cancellation and a debarment from future RRC exams. Do not bring any influence to push your case. Your form then goes to your Division or Unit for online verification as Eligible or Ineligible. Rejected candidates are not informed by post. The railway will not take responsibility if you fail to register online by the last date for any reason, so do not wait for the final day.
