The single VH Trade Helper seat at BBCI Guwahati stands on its own and is counted.
Each seat is advertised for a named unit. A UDC seat at Visakhapatnam is not the same as one at Muzaffarpur, so look at where the seat is before you choose. Trade Helper at Muzaffarpur, with twelve seats spread over five categories, is the widest door in this notice for 10th pass candidates.

TMC may also choose to offer some appointments on a contract basis for a fixed term on consolidated pay.
What is the Selection Process for TMC Recruitment 2026?
Applications are screened first. TMC may also call candidates without screening when applications are very high.
| Post Codes | Mode of Selection | Written Paper |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 13 (Medical, Physicist, SO ‘C’) | Interview | Not applicable |
| 14 and 18 to 25 (SO ‘SB’, Admin, Accounts, Legal) | Written Exam + Interview (60% : 40% weightage) | 100 MCQ marks on your specialisation |
| 15 to 17 (Technicians) | Written Exam + Skill Test (qualifying) | 100 MCQ marks on your specialisation |
| 27 (UDC) | Written Exam | 100 MCQ marks: GK, current affairs, maths, reasoning, English |
| 26, 28, 29 (Stenographer, Attendant, Trade Helper) | Written Exam + Skill Test (qualifying) | 100 MCQ marks: GK, current affairs, maths, reasoning, English |
The notice says the mode of selection may vary from this table, depending on how many candidates are shortlisted or appear. TMC can also set minimum standards and cut-off marks. So prepare for every stage listed for your post. For the medical and physicist posts, the interview is the whole contest, so revise your clinical work. For the Admin and Accounts posts, the written paper carries 60% of the weight, which means your preparation in your own field matters more than the interview. Our syllabus and exam pattern guides can help you plan the GK and reasoning part.
