Here is a rule many miss: reserved-community candidates who hold a qualification higher than SSLC have no maximum age limit on most posts, and several corporation posts carry no upper limit for them at all. “No maximum age limit” still means you must not have completed 60 years. The tables use merged cells, so check your own post code in Table 4.1 of the notification.

Parts B and C together carry 150 marks. Part B and C are evaluated only if you score 40% (60 marks) in Part A, and you need at least 90 marks out of 300 to qualify, whatever your community. Do not leave any bubble blank: darken Option [E] if you do not know the answer, because 0.5 mark is deducted for every question left blank. Differently abled candidates who studied only English can take General English instead of Part A. Plan your preparation with our syllabus guides.

Forest posts also need height of 163 cm for men (152 cm ST) and 150 cm for women and third gender (145 cm ST), with the prescribed chest measurement.

How to Apply Online for TNPSC Group 4 Recruitment 2026?

StepAction
1Register first on the One Time Registration (OTR) platform of the TNPSC exam portal (link in Essential Links). Pay ₹150, link your Aadhaar and enter your SSLC register number exactly. Skip this if your OTR is already valid.
2Note your registration number and the User ID and password you create at OTR. The Group 4 application opens only through this login.
3Log in again and click “APPLY” against CCSE-IV (Group IV Services). Check your OTR details first, since they auto-fill the form.
4Choose the post option: “All the Posts” or “Posts other than Forest Guard with Driving Licence / Forest Watcher”. Upload a photo taken on or after 6 October 2026 and your signature, and pay the ₹100 exam fee online unless exempted. Most certificates are uploaded later, when called for.
5Preview, then submit. Save the confirmation of both the OTR and the application.

Think carefully about the post option in step 4. Choose “All the Posts” only if you meet the height and chest standards and can walk 25 km (or 16 km) in four hours; otherwise pick the second option so the forest posts do not affect you. You have applied only after clicking SUBMIT; a preview does not count. Edit until 5 November, then only in the correction window (9 to 11 November 2026). Keep your SSLC mark sheet and any community or age-concession certificate ready, because missing them leads to rejection.
