UPESSC Special TET 2026 Notification: Who Must Apply, Exam Pattern and Last Date
If you are already teaching in a Primary or Upper Primary school in Uttar Pradesh and have not cleared TET, this notice is for you. The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has opened online applications for the Special Teacher Eligibility Test (Special TET) 2026 under Advt. No. 03/2026. This is not a recruitment and carries no vacancies. It is an eligibility test for working teachers, and its certificate helps you meet the TET condition that now applies to you. Keep following government jobs in Uttar Pradesh for related notices.
Time is very short. The last date to pay the online fee is 4 October 2026, corrections are allowed till 8 October 2026, and the exam is on 3 November 2026. Below we cover who can apply, the two levels, the exam pattern, qualifying marks, fees and every rule that can get a form rejected. Read it once fully before you open the portal. Bookmark GovtJobsAlert.in for the admit card and result updates.
What is UP Special TET 2026? Key Highlights
The notification explains why this test is happening. The Supreme Court made TET compulsory for all teachers on 1 September 2025, and its order of 29 May 2026 says every working teacher must pass TET by 31 August 2028. The State Government therefore decided to hold a Special TET for teachers already in service, and also for about 2,500 Special Teachers (CWSN) under a separate Supreme Court order.

Special Teachers (CWSN)

| Upper Primary (Class 6-8) | Graduation + RCI-recognised B.Ed. Special Education or equivalent |

Regular teachers must enter their eHRMS code in the form. Special Teachers (CWSN) must enter their RCI registration certificate number with active CRR number. Have these ready before you start, because the form asks for them. A form filled with wrong details can be cancelled at any stage.

The notification gives no age relaxation to any category. If you are a contract Special Educator, check your exact age on the exam date, 3 November 2026. Only the date of birth written in your High School or equivalent certificate is accepted. No other document counts.
What Does Passing UP Special TET 2026 Give You?
This test has no salary and no appointment attached. You already hold your job. What you get on passing is an eligibility certificate, issued to every candidate who reaches the qualifying marks. The notification does not state how long the certificate stays valid, so keep an eye on official notices for that. Given the 31 August 2028 deadline, clearing it on the first attempt saves you a lot of stress later.
What is the Selection Process and Exam Pattern for UP Special TET 2026?
There is one written OMR-based test. The notification prescribes no other stage.
