AFMS Medical Officer Selection Process Explained

The selection process for the AFMS Medical Officer is a multi-stage procedure designed to select the most suitable candidates. There is no written exam; selection is based on your NEET PG score and a personal interview.

Step 1: Shortlisting based on NEET PG Score

Initially, all applications will be screened. Candidates will then be shortlisted for the interview based on their NEET PG 2024 or 2025 marks. The percentile score from the NEET PG exam will be proportionately converted into a score out of 200 to prepare a merit list for the interview call-up.

Step 2: Interview

Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview by a Board of Officers at the Army Hospital (R&R) in Delhi Cantt. The interview is for a maximum of 50 marks, and you need to score at least 50% (25 marks) to qualify. The interview assesses your personality, suitability, and merit for a commission in the Armed Forces Medical Services.

Step 3: Medical Examination & Final Merit List

Candidates who clear the interview will undergo a mandatory medical examination. The final merit list will be prepared by adding your “calculated NEET PG marks” (out of 200) and the marks obtained in the interview (out of 50). Joining instructions will be issued to medically fit candidates based on their position in the merit list and the number of available vacancies.
