Chhattisgarh Sahayak Shikshak Bharti 2026 — 2,292 Teaching Posts in Government Schools
The Directorate of Public Instruction, Chhattisgarh has released the detailed advertisement for direct recruitment of Assistant Teachers (Sahayak Shikshak) in government schools across the state, and the written examination will be conducted by Chhattisgarh Staff Selection Board (CGSSB) — the board many students still call Vyapam — under exam code LSAT26. A total of 2,292 posts are on offer. If you hold a D.El.Ed or B.El.Ed and have cleared TET, this is easily one of the biggest government jobs in Chhattisgarh this year.
The online form opened on 24 July 2026 and closes on 21 August 2026 at 5:00 PM, with a correction window from 22 to 24 August. The written exam is scheduled for 11 October 2026 and the post carries Pay Matrix Level-06. In this article we have covered the full district-wise vacancy list for both cadres, the exact qualification, the age rule with every relaxation, fees and the complete application process. Keep GovtJobsAlert.in open for every update.
Key Highlights — CGSSB Assistant Teacher LSAT26 2026
Two separate cadres are being filled. E-Cadre (E-Samvarg) covers the general districts of the state, while T-Cadre (T-Samvarg) covers the Scheduled Areas of the state, mainly the Bastar and Surguja divisions along with the scheduled pockets of Korba, Raigarh, Gariaband and Balod — which is why the T-Cadre reservation is heavily weighted towards Scheduled Tribe candidates. Both cadres are for the same post, at the same pay level, through the same exam. You must also hold a Chhattisgarh local resident certificate to apply. If teaching is your line, keep following our teaching and faculty government jobs page.

What is the Eligibility for CGSSB Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2026?
Educational Qualification
You must satisfy both parts — the teaching qualification and TET.
Part A — any one of these five routes:
- Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks, plus a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name it is known).
- Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks, plus a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education obtained as per the NCTE (Recognition, Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2002.
- Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks, plus a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
- Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks, plus a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (Special Education).
- Graduation, plus a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name it is known).
Part B — compulsory for everyone:
- Passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the appropriate Government as per the guidelines issued by the National Council for Teacher Education.
The advertisement adds that these qualifications will be accepted in line with NCTE notifications issued from time to time and judgments passed by the courts. Every qualification certificate must have been obtained on or before the last date of the online application — a certificate dated later will not help you. Graduates who want to see what else is open to them can check our graduate government jobs page.
Two more eligibility conditions worth reading twice: a Chhattisgarh local resident certificate is mandatory, and a hearing-impaired candidate is eligible only if able to hear with the help of a hearing aid — a fully deaf person is not eligible for this post.
Age Limit
You must have completed 21 years and not completed 35 years as on 1 January 2026.
| Category | Upper Age Relaxation |
|---|---|
| SC / ST / OBC (non-creamy layer) of Chhattisgarh | 5 years |
| Women candidates | 10 years |
| Divyangjan | As per General Administration Department directives |
| Chhattisgarh government servants | Up to 38 years |
| Chhattisgarh corporation or board employees | Up to 38 years |
| Volunteer Nagar Sainik | 8 years, subject to a maximum of 38 years |
| Inter-caste marriage award recipients | 5 years |
| State and national award holders (as listed in the advertisement) | 5 years |
🎂 Not sure if you meet the age criteria? Use our free Age Calculator for Government Exams to find your exact age on the cut-off date and instantly check your eligibility — including SC / ST / OBC / PwBD age relaxation. →
Ex-servicemen may deduct their entire defence service period from their age, and a retrenched government servant may deduct up to seven years of earlier temporary service — but in both cases the resulting age must not be more than three years above the upper limit. And here is the hard ceiling everyone must respect: after applying any one or more of these relaxations, the maximum age for entry into government service cannot exceed 45 years.
What is the Salary for CGSSB Assistant Teacher 2026?
The post is Assistant Teacher, Non-Gazetted Third Class, carrying Pay Matrix Level-06. The advertisement states that appointed candidates will get the pay matrix level shown against the post name, along with dearness allowance and other allowances as per orders issued by the state government from time to time. It does not print a rupee figure for basic pay, so we are not going to invent one for you.
Beyond the pay, look at what this job really gives you. It is a permanent Chhattisgarh government post in your own district, with the full state government benefits package. There is a probation period of three years, which the employer may extend by a maximum of one further year if work is found unsatisfactory. And there is one more real money benefit in the exam notice: candidates who are local residents of Chhattisgarh and appear in the examination get their examination fee refunded to the same bank account after the result is declared.
What is the Selection Process and Exam Pattern for CGSSB Assistant Teacher LSAT26 2026?

How to Apply Online for CGSSB Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2026?
The whole process is online. Follow these steps calmly and you will not face any problem.
- Read the detailed advertisement first and apply only if you meet every condition — filling the form does not by itself make you eligible.
- Visit the CGSSB online application portal (link given in Essential Links below).
- Complete the one-time Profile Registration if you have not done it earlier — after this, you will not have to type your personal details again for every exam.
- Scan a recent light-background passport photo of yourself as a .jpg or .jpeg file, sized between 50 KB and 100 KB. Keep the file name alphanumeric, with no spaces or dots in between.
- Scan your signature as a separate .jpg or .jpeg file, also between 50 KB and 100 KB.
- Check your profile details carefully, because the online form picks up information straight from your profile.
- Open the LSAT26 application form, choose your cadre and district, fill the form, and pay the examination fee online.
- Press the SUBMIT button after successful payment — the form is not counted as submitted until you press SUBMIT.
- Take a printout of the submitted form and keep it safely with you.
- If you spot an error later, correct it yourself between 22 and 24 August 2026 through your profile — CGSSB will not correct anything at any stage.
No caste, date of birth, local resident, educational qualification, disability or ex-servicemen certificate is collected along with the online form — every certificate is checked later by the appointing authority, and the responsibility for what you fill is entirely yours. Reserved category candidates must produce a permanent caste certificate from the competent authority, married SC and ST women must produce a caste certificate bearing their father’s name, and anyone already working in a government department, corporation, bank or university must produce a No Objection Certificate. Information about document verification is published on the school education department’s own portal, so check it regularly, and keep an eye on our admit card updates page as the exam nears.
