What is the Eligibility for DHFWS Howrah Recruitment 2026?
Every applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal and must have proficiency in Bengali or the local language and dialect. Community Health Assistant (Urban) is only for female candidates, and applicants must be permanent residents of Howrah District. Extra points, not conditions, apply to a Master degree in Physiotherapy (MRW), MSW or National Health Programme experience (STS) and MPW training (TBHV); Thalassaemia experience is only desirable (HCP Staff Nurse). Higher graduate qualifications earn weightage for the Pharmacist post. Experience is counted only after you got the required qualification, up to 16 October 2026, so keep certificates stamped by the employer, with working dates, from the oldest to the latest. Marks of Class 10 are taken without the additional subject, and Class 12 marks are the best of five subjects, leaving out compulsory ones. No rounding off is allowed, and marks are counted up to two decimal points. If your result shows CGPA or a grade, keep the conversion formula of your university ready.

Applications are shortlisted on marks in qualification and experience, and only shortlisted candidates are called. Staff Nurse (HCP) marks are Class 12 or equivalent 25, GNM 60 and interview 15.
