Educational Qualification
- Minimum Qualification: Government-recognised ITI pass (minimum one-year course) in any one of the following trades: Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Mechanic Diesel, General Mechanic, Fitter, Turner, Electrician, Sheet Metal Worker, Automobile Sub Body Repairer, Welder, Welder Cum Fabricator, Machinist, Carpenter, Painter General, or Automobile Paint Repairer
- Additional Preference Qualification: NCVT Apprenticeship pass certificate in the same trade as the ITI qualification from a Government / Semi-Government / PSU or any Limited / Private Limited company
- Computer Knowledge: Must possess a basic computer knowledge certificate as per Gujarat Government norms, or a computer diploma/degree/certificate, or Class 10/12 passed with Computer as a subject

The selection is based on a combined merit of educational qualification weightage and written exam.
Shortlisting for Written Exam
Candidates are shortlisted at 1:15 ratio based on ITI marks (55% weightage) and Apprenticeship marks (15% weightage) totalling 70% weightage. Candidates with the highest combined weightage are called for the OMR exam.
OMR Written Examination (100 Marks)
The OMR-based written exam is of 100 marks with a duration of 2 hours. The exam pattern is:
