What is the Eligibility for GSSSB Work Assistant 2026?
Educational Qualification
You must hold a Diploma in Civil Engineering from a Technical Examination Board, or from a university or institution set up under a Central or State Act, or a recognised or deemed institution under the UGC Act 1956, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government. The notification adds a clear bar: the candidate holding Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering shall not be eligible to apply.
You also need basic knowledge of computer application as set in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967, and adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both. If you lack the computer certificate today you may still apply, but you must produce it before appointment, or your selection is cancelled. Foreign degree holders must furnish UGC equivalence.
Per the department resolutions of 16 April 2025 and 3 September 2026, apart from the Diploma in Civil, only these equivalent diplomas are accepted. Check your exact diploma name against this list.

Age Limit

If you send several, the last confirmed application with fee is valid and the fee on the others is not refunded.
