Notice the zeros. Aeronautical, Chemical and Metallurgy lack SC, ST and EWS seats; Civil lacks ST and EWS; Computer Science and Production lack ST. A reserved candidate can still compete for the UR seats in those disciplines, but on UR terms. The 6 PwBD seats are spread across categories and are not extra to the 150. Only candidates with 40% or more of an identified disability get the reservation benefit, and the identified disabilities differ by discipline, so check the table in the official notification.

Educational Qualification
You need a Regular / Full Time Degree in Engineering / Technology from a recognised university or institute, under the 10+2+4 system (10+3+3 for lateral entry). The aggregate is counted across all semesters or years, with no rounding off. If your university gives CGPA, enter the equivalent percentage and carry a Conversion Certificate to the interview. If you hold both a diploma and a degree, enter the degree marks. HAL may also accept another branch of the same discipline, but only if your degree certificate names one of the listed disciplines or branches.

After all relaxations, your age must not exceed 56 years for PwBD and 55 years for others. A reserved candidate applying against a UR post is treated on UR criteria. OBC candidates who belong to the creamy layer are not entitled to the OBC-NCL relaxation and must indicate their category as UR in the form. SC, ST and OBC-NCL candidates should also check that their caste appears in the Central List, spelled exactly as in the certificate.

Medical insurance proof must be submitted within three months of joining, and you will not get any other medical benefit at HAL dispensaries. Remember also that this engagement gives no right to claim regular executive status.
Think about the tenure honestly before you apply. The job ends automatically after three years, with no extension. Either party can end it earlier by one month’s notice or by payment of Basic+DA in lieu of the notice. You will sign an undertaking at joining that you understand this. You can be posted or transferred to any HAL division, office or base, and no request for a change of posting is entertained after joining. For a fresh graduate, though, three years of aerospace work at a Maharatna PSU is strong experience for your next job, so do not dismiss it just because it is short term.

Because HAL says selection is through Interview only, your degree aggregate decides whether you are called at all. With a 1:10 ratio, a discipline with 2 seats calls at most about 20 people, while Mechanical can call many more. Meeting the eligibility alone does not guarantee an interview call.
