Garhwal University Non-Teaching Vacancy 2026: Posts, Eligibility and Application Guide

A Central University job with no interview — that is what makes this notification worth your attention. Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU), Srinagar Garhwal, has invited applications for 27 Group B Non-Teaching posts across 12 roles, all at Pay Level 6 or Level 7. Track more university and central government openings.

Applications open 17 August 2026 and close 16 September 2026 at 6:00 PM, through the University’s SAMARTH portal only. Nine of the twelve posts demand prior work experience — but three do not: Senior Technical Assistant (Auto CAD), Senior Technical Assistant (HAPPRC) and Sports Coach ask only for the degree and diploma. Read the qualification table post by post before paying the fee. Keep GovtJobsAlert.in open for every follow-up notice.

Key Highlights — HNBGU Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026

Because HNBGU is a Central University, appointees come under central service rules rather than state rules, and may be posted anywhere in the University’s jurisdiction. Candidates searching for government jobs in Uttarakhand should note this is a central, not state, appointment.

What is the Salary for HNBGU Non-Teaching Posts 2026?

We will stick strictly to what the notification prints: it lists only the Pay Level for each post and does not print the corresponding rupee pay-matrix figures.

Pay LevelPosts
Level 7Private Secretary, Assistant Engineer (Civil), Horticulturist, Sports Coach
Level 6Assistant, Personal Assistant, all three Senior Technical Assistant roles, Junior Engineer (Civil), Junior Engineer (Electrical), AIPRO

The notification specifies pay only as Level 6 or Level 7 of the pay matrix. The exact basic pay figures are not printed, so confirm them from the University at the appointment stage.

Being a Central University post, the appointment carries central government service benefits — DA, HRA, medical facilities, leave entitlements and pension under the applicable scheme — all as per Government of India rules.

What is the Selection Process for HNBGU Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026?

Read this carefully, because it is what candidates most often get wrong: the notification prescribes no interview for these posts. Note, though, that the same document still mentions an interview elsewhere — the Selection Committee may set its own evaluation method “in the interview, if applicable” — so treat the written or skill test as the live stage and watch the University website.

StageWhat Happens
Screening and scrutinyA Screening Committee prepares the eligible list on criteria it decides. Holding the essential qualification does not guarantee being called forward
Written or skill testHeld at the University’s discretion under its Cadre Recruitment Rules
InterviewNone — no interview for Group B posts carrying Grade Pay ₹4,600 or less, per the MHRD letter cited in the notification
Document verificationOriginals on demand; in-service applicants need an NOC and Vigilance Clearance in a sealed cover, deputation applicants five years of CR dossiers

Skill test norms are already fixed for two posts: Private Secretary — dictation 10 minutes at 120 or 100 wpm, transcription 50 minutes (English) or 60 minutes (Hindi); Personal Assistant — dictation 10 minutes at 100 wpm, transcription 40 minutes (English) or 55 minutes (Hindi). Stenography aspirants should practise daily against a timer and work through relevant previous year question papers.

How to Apply Online for HNBGU Recruitment 2026?

Applications are accepted only online through the SAMARTH portal — no hard copy of the application or documents need be sent to the University. Scan all certificates in high resolution first: poor-quality uploads are grounds for outright rejection. If your claimed experience is from a non-government organisation you must also upload Form-16 to evidence your emoluments, or that experience will not be counted.

StepWhat to Do
1Register on the SAMARTH portal with a valid email ID and mobile number (see Essential Links below)
2Log in and select your post from the live vacancy list
3Fill the prescribed format with complete personal, academic and experience details
4Upload self-attested scans of degrees, marksheets, experience and category certificates
5If you are already in service anywhere — not only government or university — upload the NOC or forwarding from your employer’s competent authority
6Pay the fee online — credit card, debit card, net banking or UPI
7Submit and save a printout of the application and payment receipt

Applying for more than one post means a separate application and a separate fee for each. The portal closes sharp at 6:00 PM on 16 September 2026.

A Central University post, 27 vacancies, no interview, and a full month to apply — if you have the experience these roles ask for, this is worth your fortnight — while noting the University may choose not to fill some or all of the posts. Scan your documents this week, because high-resolution uploads take longer than people expect and the portal shuts at 6:00 PM on 16 September 2026.
