  • Graduate Engineer (Grade A): B.Tech / B.E. or equivalent degree with 65% marks for General / EWS / OBC (NCL) and 55% for SC / ST / PwBD
  • Officer Marketing (Grade A): two-year full-time regular MBA or PGDBA with specialisation in Marketing Management, with 60% marks (55% for SC / ST / PwBD); the specialisation must appear on the final degree certificate
  • Officer Law (Grade A): a graduate degree in any discipline plus LLB, or a five-year integrated LLB, with 60% marks in both the graduation and the LLB (55% for SC / ST / PwBD); the LLB must be recognised by the Bar Council of India

What is the Selection Process for IOCL Executive Recruitment 2026?

Selection runs through a written test followed by group and personal assessment, and the final merit is a weighted composite score.

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT) on 24 September 2026
  2. Shortlisting for the next stage on CBT marks, in descending order for each domain
  3. Document Verification conducted before and during the group and personal stages
  4. Group Discussion (GD) and Group Task (GT)
  5. Personal Interview (PI)
  6. Merit list on the composite score of CBT 85%, GD & GT 5% and PI 10%
  7. Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME) before final selection and joining

The CBT has 100 objective multiple-choice questions in two sections. Section A — General Aptitude carries 50 questions: Quantitative Aptitude 20, Logical Reasoning 15 and Verbal Ability of English Language 15, in 60 minutes. Section B — Domain Knowledge carries 50 questions in 90 minutes. Each question carries one mark and 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer. Qualifying marks differ by category — General, EWS and OBC (NCL) need 40% in each section and 45% overall; SC and ST need 35% in each section and 40% overall; PwBD need 25% in each section and 30% overall. The detailed syllabus is uploaded on the IOCL website alongside the advertisement, and the CBT will be held across 83 test cities in India — which IOCL may add to or reduce at its discretion — with candidates choosing three centres in order of priority.
