IRCON posts selected apprentices to its projects and offices as slots are available. Only Graduate Civil carries an ST or EWS seat. SC seats exist only in Graduate Civil (2), Graduate Electrical (1) and the two Diploma disciplines (1 each). S&T has UR and one OBC seat, and every other graduate discipline lists Unreserved seats only, so an SC, ST or EWS candidate in HR, Finance, Legal or IT has no reserved seat to compete for. Diploma holders should note there is no S&T seat at diploma level: that discipline is for graduates only.
The notification adds that seats left vacant in any discipline may be diverted to other disciplines, and that a shortage of reserved-category candidates is handled under rule 5 (1&2) of the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992. Read your row twice before you pick a discipline, because the form allows only one application per candidate per location for a particular post.

If your degree is a non-engineering one, note that HR, Finance, Rajbhasha, CSR and Legal each ask for a full-time degree in that exact subject, and IT asks for Computer Science or Information Technology. GoI pays half of that minimum, and IRCON pays the balance up to Rs 14,000 and Rs 12,000.

Selection is purely on paper, so every mark in your qualifying degree or diploma counts. The percentage in your consolidated mark sheet is used; if your university issues none, the average of all semesters or years is taken. Fill your percentage without rounding off. If your university gives a CGPA and has no conversion rule, a minimum of 6 on a 10-point scale is treated as 60%, and other scales are prorated. If your university does give an equivalent percentage, enter that and carry the university’s certificate to verification.
