What is the Eligibility for JSHPS Recruitment 2026?
The same post name, such as Accountant, appears at different levels with different qualifications, pay and age. Match your level, not just the name. A degree must be full time only where its row says so, and agriculture or horticulture degrees need ICAR-recognised institutions.
| Post | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Deputy Director-Operation and Program | PG in Horticulture or Agriculture, or MBA in Agri Marketing or Agribusiness (ICAR-recognised); 10 years experience, 7 in a supervisory or managerial role (Deputy Director, Assistant Director, DGM, Senior Program Officer or equivalent) in a Government Department, PSU or NGO |
| Deputy Director-Finance | CA, Cost Accountant or full-time MBA (Finance); 10 years experience, 7 in a supervisory or managerial role (Deputy Director, Assistant Director, DGM, Senior Program Officer or equivalent) in a Government Department, PSU or NGO |
| State Program Manager | 2-year full-time PG in Horticulture or Agriculture, or 2-year full-time MBA in Agri Marketing or Agribusiness; 5 to 7 years experience, and district-level experience is mandatory |
| State Technical Horticulture Officer | Full-time graduate in Horticulture or Agriculture (PG preferred); 3 years in horticulture development, extension, nursery, protected cultivation, post-harvest, floriculture or vegetable production with Central or State Government, a PSU, a statutory autonomous body, a recognised research institution or a university |
| State Manager Finance & Admin | M.Com, CA (Inter) or 2-year full-time MBA; 2 years experience |
| State MIS Officer | MCA, M.Sc (IT) or B.Tech (CSE); 5 years in a similar role |
| Documentation-cum-Knowledge Management Officer | PG in Journalism or Mass Communication; 4 years in documentation and reporting |
| Accountant (HQ) | Full-time graduate in Commerce, Finance and Accounting, First class; 3 years post-qualification experience in financial management, payroll and accounting in a Government or private organisation |
| Accountant (District) | Full-time PG in Commerce, Finance and Accounting, First class; 3 years post-qualification experience in financial management, payroll and accounting in a Government or private organisation |
| District Program Manager | Full-time PG or higher in Horticulture or Agriculture; 5 years experience, and block-level experience is mandatory |
| Thematic Expert | Graduate in Horticulture or Agriculture (PG preferred); 3 years in horticulture development, extension, nursery, protected cultivation, post-harvest, floriculture or vegetable production with Central or State Government, a PSU, a statutory autonomous body, a recognised research institution or a university, and block-level experience is mandatory |
| Block Program Manager | Graduate in Agriculture or Horticulture (full-time PG desirable); no experience stated in the pages we checked |
| Assistant-cum-DEO (HQ and District) | Full-time graduate with ADCA, or full-time BCA or B.Sc (IT); 2 years experience |
| Assistant-cum-DEO (Block) | Full-time graduate with ADCA, or full-time BCA or B.Sc (IT); 1 year experience |
Think of the posts as a ladder. A State Program Manager must have prior district-level experience, and a District Program Manager and Thematic Expert must have prior block-level experience. If you have worked at block level in an agriculture or horticulture scheme, your experience letters are your strongest document, so collect them early. The Block Program Manager post is the entry point, and it is the only manager post that asks for no experience in the pages we checked.
Age Limit
Age and eligibility are counted as on 4 December 2026, the online last date.
| Posts | Age Limit |
|---|---|
| Three Deputy Director posts | 35 to 50 years |
| State Program Manager, State MIS Officer, Documentation-cum-KM Officer, Accountant (HQ and District), District Program Manager, Thematic Expert | 30 to 45 years |
| State Technical Horticulture Officer | 30 to 40 years |
| State Manager Finance & Admin | 25 to 40 years |
| Assistant-cum-DEO (all levels) | 25 to 35 years |
| Block Program Manager | 21 to 30 years |
🎂 Not sure if you meet the age criteria? Use our free Age Calculator for Government Exams to find your exact age on the cut-off date and check whether you are within the age limit. →
The pages we checked contain no age relaxation clause, so treat these limits as firm unless the full notification says otherwise. Work out your exact age on 4 December 2026, not on the day you apply, because a candidate who is one month over the limit is simply out.
What is the Salary for JSHPS Recruitment 2026?
All pay is consolidated and fixed with no pay level or grade pay, plus a 5% performance-linked increment every year.
| Post | Monthly Pay |
|---|---|
| Three Deputy Director posts | ₹1,00,000 |
| State Program Manager, State Manager Finance & Admin, State MIS Officer | ₹60,000 |
| District Program Manager | ₹50,000 |
| Thematic Expert | ₹45,000 |
| State Technical Horticulture Officer, Documentation-cum-KM Officer | ₹40,000 |
| Accountant (HQ) and Block Program Manager | ₹35,000 |
| Accountant (District) | ₹30,000 |
| Assistant-cum-DEO (HQ and District) | ₹25,000 |
| Assistant-cum-DEO (Block) | ₹20,000 |
Compare levels honestly. A Block Program Manager earns ₹35,000 and a District Program Manager earns ₹50,000, but the district post needs a postgraduate degree, five years of experience and block-level experience. If you qualify for more than one post, you may apply for each, but you will pay a fee and send a printed copy for every single one. Pick the posts you really have a chance for.
The jobs are contractual, with a one-year term. Renewal depends on your performance, and you get no claim to regularisation. Weigh that before you leave a stable job.
What is the Selection Process for JSHPS Recruitment 2026?
| Stage | Detail |
|---|---|
| 1. Provisional list | Post-wise list of eligible candidates and rejected applications on the website |
| 2. Written exam and/or interview | A written exam is held where applications exceed 15 times the vacancies for a post |
| 3. Final list on merit | Final list ranked on merit (अंतिम मेधा सूची), the sole basis of selection, with a category-wise waiting list of twice the vacancies, valid one year from its publication |
Do not assume a written exam will happen. It is held only where applications cross 15 times the seats, so popular block posts may see an exam while a Headquarters post may not. Prepare for both, and keep your academic and experience papers in order, since the eligible list comes first.
If marks tie, the older candidate ranks higher. Next comes higher written exam marks, if an exam was held. After that, the name that comes first alphabetically wins. The pages we checked state no exam pattern or syllabus, and no TA/DA is paid for the interview. Watch the recruitment portal for exam notices, and see our syllabus page for preparation help.
Conditions That Can Cost You the Post
| Condition | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| One post, one form | Separate online application and separate fee for each post |
| Fee | Non-refundable, and an application without the fee is not accepted |
| Printed copy | Mandatory, and it must reach Ranchi by the deadline |
| Caste, resident, income certificates | One issued for educational purposes is not valid for reservation |
| Local resident certificate | Needed to claim reservation |
| Disability benefit | Only for 40% or more disability, with a certificate |
| False information | If wrong information or concealment is found at any stage, the CEO may cancel your candidature |
| No claim by applying | Applying gives no claim to appointment; only the published final list ranked on merit decides selection |
| Process may change | The CEO may postpone or cancel the selection process at any time without giving reasons, and the Governing Body may reduce or increase vacancies |
How to Apply Online for JSHPS Recruitment 2026?
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Open the Jharkhand recruitment portal (link in Essential Links below) |
| 2 | Apply between 4 November and 4 December 2026, before 3:00 PM |
| 3 | Fill a separate form for every post, upload photo, signature and documents, and pay the fee |
| 4 | Print the application, attach self-attested copies, the fee receipt and a signed checklist |
| 5 | Send it to the Chief Executive Officer, JSHPS, Third Floor, Krishi Bhawan, Ranchi 834008, by hand or Registered or Speed Post |
The printed copy is not a formality. The online form alone is not the end of the process, and the notice says the hard copy goes with self-attested copies of your documents. Post it at least three or four days early, and keep the postal receipt. An envelope that arrives a day late is a lost application.
Write the advertisement number, post name and level (HQ, District or Block) on the envelope. Keep your qualification, experience, caste and local resident certificates ready. The portal may slow down near the end, so apply early.
