NLC India Apprenticeship 2026 at Neyveli: 1,235 Training Slots Under PAP and Employees’ Ward Quota

NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna Government of India enterprise, has released two apprenticeship notifications for its Neyveli operations in Tamil Nadu — Advt. No. L&DC/02/2026 for 875 slots under the Project Affected Persons quota, and Advt. No. L&DC/03/2026 for 360 slots for employees’ children. Together that is 1,235 apprentice training slots with a monthly stipend of ₹12,000 to ₹15,028. Please read the eligibility carefully before you get your hopes up — these are restricted-quota notifications, not open recruitment.

Only wards of NLCIL Project Affected Persons and wards or spouses of NLCIL employees and contract workmen can apply. If you do not fall in either group, you are unfortunately not eligible this time — but keep checking PSU jobs on GovtJobsAlert.in for open notifications. Applications opened on 29 July 2026 and close on 11 August 2026 at 5:00 PM. Below we explain both quotas, trade-wise slots, stipend and the full application process.

Who Can Apply? NLC Apprentice 2026 Quota Eligibility

Advt. No. L&DC/02/2026 — Project Affected Persons (PAP) Quota, 875 Slots

Only eligible wards of NLCIL Project Affected Persons may apply — that is, families whose house or land was acquired by NLCIL after 1 July 1989. A valid PAP certificate issued by the Land Department is compulsory. Note the extra deadline here: documents for obtaining the PAP certificate must be submitted at the Land Department by 7 August 2026, well before the application closes.

This quota is open to wards and spouses of in-service NLCIL employees, wards of retired or deceased NLCIL employees, and wards of on-roll NLCIL contract workmen engaged through Indcoserve, Howsicos, AMC and BMC. What is the Stipend and Salary for NLC Apprentice 2026?

Both notifications print identical stipend figures. Part of the stipend comes directly from the Government under the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) scheme, so keep your Aadhaar linked to your bank account.

  • Trade (ITI) Apprentice: ₹12,000 per month
  • Technician (Diploma) Apprentice: ₹12,524 per month (of which ₹4,000 is paid by the Government under DBT)
  • Non-Engineering Graduate Apprentice: ₹12,524 per month (of which ₹4,500 is paid under DBT)

Apprentices receive a monthly stipend of ₹12,000 to ₹15,028 for the full 12-month training period.

Do keep in mind that apprenticeship is training, not permanent employment, and completing it does not create a right to a job at NLCIL. What it does give you is a year of paid experience at a Navratna PSU plus a recognised apprenticeship certificate.

What is the Selection Process for NLC Apprentice Recruitment 2026?

There is no written examination and no interview in either notification. Selection is made purely on merit based on the marks obtained in your qualifying examination — your ITI, diploma or degree marks.

Stage 1: Online Application and Merit List

Applications are ranked on qualifying examination marks within each trade or discipline and within each quota.

Stage 2: Document Verification

Shortlisted candidates must produce their proof documents. For the PAP quota this means the PAP certificate from the Land Department. For the Employees’ Children quota this means documents such as the Employee ID, Medical Book, Death Certificate, Form-1 or Form-2 as applicable to your relationship with the employee.

Stage 3: Result and Joining

The result is scheduled for 24 August 2026 and joining for 26 August 2026 — a very quick turnaround, so keep your documents ready in advance. You can follow similar updates on our results page.
