How to Download RRB Technician Admit Card 2026?
The e-call letter is your admit card for the CBT. You download it from the same RRB login page that showed your exam city slip. Follow these steps:
- Open the RRB Technician Admit Card 2026 login link given in the latest update box on this page (it is also listed in Essential Links).
- Log in with your registration number and your date of birth or password, as the login page asks.
- Open your Grade-I Signal or Grade-III e-call letter and check your name, photograph, exam date, shift and centre address.
- Download it and take a clear printout. No call letter will be sent by post, so you must download it from the login page.
- SC/ST candidates who opted for free travel should check that the free travel authority (sleeper class pass) appears on the e-call letter itself.
E-call letter downloads start about 4 days (tentatively) before the exam date shown on your city slip. The 4-day count runs from your own exam date, so if your exam falls later in the 06 to 09 October window, keep checking the login page until your letter appears. The CBT centre, date and shift printed on the e-call letter are final. RRB will not entertain any request to change them.
What to Carry to the RRB Technician CBT 2026?
Read the instructions printed with your e-call letter carefully. The notification warns that failure to follow them may lead to disqualification. Carry these items on exam day:

Do not carry mobile phones, watches, earphones, Bluetooth devices, health bands, calculators, books, paper, pen or pencil, belts, handbags, caps, purses, cameras, water bottles or food. A pen is given to you in the exam hall. Do not apply henna on your hands or feet, because it blocks biometric capture. Any violation leads to disqualification, legal action and debarment from future recruitment exams. Cloak rooms may not be available at the venue, so leave valuables at home.
What Should You Do at the RRB Technician Exam Centre?
You must write the Self-Declaration paragraph, sign and put your Left Thumb Impression (LTI) on the e-call letter only inside the exam hall, in front of the invigilator, and hand it over before the exam ends. Candidates who write the declaration in advance, or who sign in CAPITAL letters, will be rejected.
Also remember that getting an e-call letter does not mean your candidature is accepted for the next stages. Your photograph, signature and other credentials are checked at the centre before you are allowed to take the exam. Anyone using unfair means, sending someone else in their place or trying to impersonate is debarred from all RRB and RRC exams for life. Such candidates are also liable for legal prosecution, and the notification draws attention to the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act and Rules, 2024.

The exam city slip (exam city and date intimation) tells you which city and which date inside the 06 to 09 October 2026 window you have been given for the CBT. It is not your admit card. Follow these steps:

What Are the Aadhaar and Biometric Rules for RRB Technician Exam 2026?
Aadhaar-linked biometric authentication will be done at the exam centre before you are allowed into the exam hall. Settle these points now, not on exam morning:
- Carry your original Aadhaar card or a printout of your e-verified Aadhaar to the centre.
- If you have not yet authenticated your identity through Aadhaar, log in at rrbapply.gov.in with your credentials and complete it.
- Keep your Aadhaar in unlocked condition in the UIDAI system before you reach the centre, even if you already verified it while applying.
- Make sure your Aadhaar carries your correct name, date of birth as per your Class 10th certificate, latest photograph, address and father’s name, and your biometrics should be updated if you have not done so since reaching 15 years of age.
How to Check RRB Technician Application Status 2026 (Accepted or Rejected)?
The scrutiny of applications is complete. From 11 September 2026, log in at rrbapply.gov.in with your user credentials and you will see one of three statuses:
- Provisionally Accepted
- Conditionally Accepted
- Rejected (the reasons for rejection are shown with it)
RRB will also send an SMS and email to your registered mobile number and email ID, but these can fail to reach you for reasons beyond RRB’s control. So do not wait for a message — log in and check for yourself.

It is liable to be cancelled at any stage of the recruitment process or even after it if any inconsistency, deficiency or falsified record or data is found in your application, or if any malpractice on your part comes to RRB’s notice. What is the Eligibility for RRB Technician 2026?
The qualification and age rules are different for the two grades, so read them for the grade you applied for.
Educational Qualification
- Technician Grade-I Signal: B.Sc. in Physics, Electronics, Computer Science, IT or Instrumentation; OR a 3-year Diploma in Engineering; OR a Degree in Engineering in these streams.
- Technician Grade-III: Class 10th (Matriculation / SSLC) pass PLUS a National or State Trade Certificate (ITI) in the trade notified for the post; OR a Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA) in that trade. For Technician Grade-III (S&T), candidates with 10+2 (with Physics and Maths) are also eligible.
Each Grade-III post accepts its own list of ITI trades — common eligible trades include Fitter, Welder, Electrician, Wireman, Electronics Mechanic, Mechanic Diesel and Machinist. Always check the exact trade list for your chosen post in the notification PDF.
Age Limit
- Technician Grade-I Signal: 18 to 33 years
- Technician Grade-III: 18 to 30 years
- Age is calculated as on 1 July 2026.
- Age relaxation: OBC-NCL 3 years, SC/ST 5 years, and PwBD 10 years (UR/EWS). Ex-Servicemen and other special categories get further relaxation as per railway rules.
What is the Salary for RRB Technician 2026?
Railway Technician jobs offer a stable government salary with regular increments. The starting pay depends on the grade you are selected for.
- Technician Grade-I Signal: 7th CPC Pay Level 5, initial basic pay ₹29,200 per month.
- Technician Grade-III: 7th CPC Pay Level 2, initial basic pay ₹19,900 per month.
