Rajasthan Vidyut Nigam Ministerial Staff Recruitment 2026 — 1,136 Posts in Five Power Companies
This is a massive opening for 12th pass and commerce graduates in Rajasthan! Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. (RVUN) has released Advertisement No. RVUN/Rectt.-2026-27/03 for the common recruitment of Junior Accountant and Junior Assistant / Commercial Assistant-II, with 1,136 vacancies. The exam is held separately for each post, so if you are eligible for both you may submit one application for each — that is allowed and doubles your chances. There is no interview at any stage, and pay reaches Level-10 with a basic of ₹33,800 per month for Junior Accountant.
The application window is open only from 5 August to 25 August 2026. What makes this drive stand out is the Junior Assistant / Commercial Assistant-II post, which needs only a Senior Secondary (Class 12) pass plus a computer certificate — so a very large pool of candidates can apply, provided you also have working knowledge of Hindi in Devnagri script. In this article on GovtJobsAlert.in we explain everything simply. See more Rajasthan government jobs here too.
Key Highlights — RVUNL Junior Accountant & Junior Assistant Recruitment 2026
RVUN issued this advertisement for the Common Recruitment Exercise covering all five Rajasthan power companies, which together handle generation, transmission and distribution of electricity across every district of the state. One important clarification — Junior Assistant / Commercial Assistant-II is a single post with a dual designation, not two separate posts. It has one vacancy table, one pay level and one qualification set. This is a large opening for 12th pass candidates.
- Post Names: Junior Accountant, and Junior Assistant / Commercial Assistant-II
- Vacancies Advertised: 1,136 posts across five power companies
- Minimum Qualification: Senior Secondary (Class 12) pass plus a computer certificate for Junior Assistant / CA-II
- Pay: ₹20,800 (Level L-5) and ₹33,800 (Level L-10) basic pay
- Application Dates: 5 August to 25 August 2026
- Selection: Computer Based Test — no interview
Vacancy Breakdown — RVUNL Junior Accountant & Junior Assistant 2026
Of the 1,136 posts, 765 are for Junior Assistant / Commercial Assistant-II and 371 are for Junior Accountant. Among the five companies, JVVN has the largest share with 404 seats.
| Post Name | Vacancies |
|---|---|
| Junior Assistant / Commercial Assistant-II | 765 |
| Junior Accountant | 371 |
| All Posts | 1,136 |
Company-wise, the split is JVVN 404, JdVVN 325, AVVN 249, RVUN 89 and RVPN 69. Within these figures there are horizontal reservations for women (including widows and divorcees), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, Ex-servicemen, Outstanding Sports Persons and in-service employees of the respective Nigam — horizontal means selected candidates are adjusted back into their own social category. Vacancies are also split between Non-TSP and TSP (Tribal Sub-Plan) areas, and a TSP-area candidate is considered against both, provided the claim is declared in the form and backed by a “Vishesh Mool Niwas Praman Patra”. You must give your company preference in the application form itself, with no second chance to change it, and vacancy numbers may increase or decrease at each nigam’s discretion without any corrigendum.
Eligibility Criteria — RVUNL Junior Accountant & Junior Assistant 2026
Educational Qualification
Junior Accountant — you need any one of the following, plus a computer certificate:
- Graduation degree in Commerce or Business Administration from a recognised university
- Intermediate of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, or the IPCC / Intermediate of ICAI
- MBA from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification — this includes a 2-year PG Diploma in Business Management declared equivalent to an MBA
- M.Com of minimum two years from a recognised university, or equivalent
Junior Assistant / Commercial Assistant-II — you need a Senior Secondary (Class 12) pass from a recognised board, plus a computer certificate.
The computer certificate requirement is identical for both posts, and there are eight accepted options: the DOEACC “O” Level or any higher DOEACC level; the NIELIT certificate course on computer concepts; COPA or DPCS under the National or State Council of Vocational Training; a degree, diploma or certificate in Computer Science or Computer Application from a university established by law in India or a government-recognised institution; a Senior Secondary certificate with Computer Science or Computer Application as one of the subjects; one computer-related subject in any semester or year of a Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification — including CA (I.T.T. Certificate), ICWA, CS and MBA; a Diploma in Computer Science & Engineering from a government-recognised polytechnic; and RSCIT from Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University, Kota. Commerce students should also see other commerce and finance government jobs on our site.
Candidates must also possess working knowledge of Hindi written in Devnagri script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture. Final-year students may apply, but you must produce proof of the qualification — including the computer certificate — on or before the date fixed for document verification. If you have not acquired it by that date, your candidature is rejected outright even if you cleared the online exam. For Ex-servicemen, the computer qualification is not required at the time of application or at document verification — you only need it before joining, if selected, and a minimum 3-month certificate course from any defence institution of the Government of India is also accepted.
Reserved Category Certificates
Reservation benefit is tightly gated. Your SC / ST / EWS or BC / MBC non-creamy-layer certificate must be issued in the prescribed format by the competent authority of Rajasthan state only — certificates from other states are not accepted, for reservation or for the fee. You must already hold your category eligibility on the last date of application. BC / MBC non-creamy-layer and EWS income & assets certificates must have been issued within the last 12 months. EWS candidates must be bonafide residents of Rajasthan with family gross annual income below ₹8 lakh. Married SC / ST women must give a caste certificate in their parents’ name and residence, not their husband’s — the same applies to the BC / MBC non-creamy-layer certificate. For the in-service Nigam quota you need five years’ regular service as on 1 January 2027, and only in the Nigam where you already work. Transgender candidates are considered in the OBC category, unless already covered under SC, ST, MBC or EWS with that category’s certificate.
PwBD Eligibility
Only specified disabilities are accepted, and the accepted list is not the same for both posts. For Junior Accountant: Low Vision; Deaf / Hard of Hearing; One Arm, Both Arms, One Leg, Both Legs, One Arm & One Leg, Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victim; Autism Spectrum Disorder, Specific Learning Disability, Mental Illness; and Multiple Disability involving these. For Junior Assistant / CA-II the list additionally includes Blindness and Muscular Dystrophy, but Autism is restricted to the mild form. Any benchmark disability outside the list for that post is not eligible. Even if you already hold a disability certificate, eligibility is decided afresh by a Medical Board constituted by the Rajasthan Medical Department at Divisional Headquarters.
Age Limit
Age is counted as on 1 January 2027 — not the application date. The normal upper limit is 40 years, but because direct recruitment was not held for the previous three years, the upper age limit for this drive is 43 years.
| Category | Age Limit |
|---|---|
| All candidates (this recruitment) | 18 to 43 years |
| Male SC / ST / BC / MBC / EWS | 5 years relaxation |
| Women — General category | 5 years relaxation |
| Women — SC / ST / BC / MBC / EWS | 10 years relaxation |
| Ex-servicemen | Military service + 3 years (maximum 50) |
| In-service Nigam candidates (same Nigam only) | No upper age limit |
🎂 Not sure if you meet the age criteria? Use our free Age Calculator for Government Exams to find your exact age on the 1 January 2027 cut-off date and check your eligibility. Relaxation is non-cumulative — you may claim it under only one provision, except for PwBD candidates. →
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities get an extra 5 years over and above their category relaxation, and widows and divorced women have no upper age limit. Further relaxations apply to ex-prisoners, NCC Cadet Instructors, released Emergency and Short Service Commissioned Officers, and persons repatriated from Pakistan during the 1971 war. Relaxations are not cumulative — you can claim only one, except for PwBD candidates.
There are also absolute disqualifications to check before paying the fee. A candidate with more than two children born on or after 1 June 2002 is not eligible for appointment — though children from a single subsequent delivery count as one, a disabled child from an earlier delivery is not counted, and the rule does not apply to widows and divorced women. Candidates with more than one living spouse, those married to a person who already has a living spouse, and those who accepted dowry are also ineligible. At document verification, married candidates must submit an affidavit on ₹50 non-judicial stamp paper listing the name and date of birth of all their children.
What is the Salary for RVUNL Junior Accountant & Junior Assistant 2026?
Both posts start with a two-year training period on a fixed monthly amount, and then move to the regular Rajasthan Pay Matrix.
| Post | Training Pay | After Training |
|---|---|---|
| Junior Accountant | ₹23,700 per month | Level L-10, basic ₹33,800 |
| Junior Assistant / CA-II | ₹14,600 per month | Level L-5, basic ₹20,800 |
For a Class 12 pass candidate, reaching a basic pay of ₹20,800 at Level L-5 in a state power company, with allowances and other benefits paid as per the relevant rules, is a strong outcome.
Candidates are first engaged as Probationer Trainee for two years on the fixed remuneration shown above. On appointment, all selected candidates must furnish a Bond and Surety as per the Regulations, and all terms and conditions prescribed for a Probationer Trainee apply. Selected candidates must also produce a medical fitness certificate from a Medical Authority notified by the Nigam.
What is the Selection Process for RVUNL Junior Accountant & Junior Assistant 2026?
There is no interview for either post, but the two posts follow different exam routes — this is the most important thing to understand before you apply.
Junior Accountant — Single Exam
- Computer Based Test — one paper of 2 hours, objective MCQs, in two parts.
- Part-A (60% weightage) covers Corporate Accounting, Income Tax, Cost Accounting, Theory and Practice of Auditing, Management Accounting, Advanced Cost Accounting, Cost and Management Audit, Computer Application in Accounting, Taxation Law and Practice and Advanced Financial Accounting, at graduation degree level.
- Part-B (40% weightage) covers Reasoning & Mental Ability, Mathematics, GK & Everyday Science, Hindi General and English General.
- There is negative marking for each wrong answer, and then document verification follows.
Junior Assistant / CA-II — Two Phases
- Phase-I Stage-1 (Pre-examination) — for screening and shortlisting only. It carries zero weightage in the final merit, and there is no negative marking here. About 10 times the vacancies are called for the Main exam, and that zone is relaxed for reserved categories where enough candidates do not qualify on the general standard.
- Phase-I Stage-2 (Main examination) — the same five subjects as the Pre: Reasoning & Mental Ability, Mathematics (Class-X level), General Knowledge & Everyday Science (with special reference to Rajasthan), Hindi General and English General (both Class-X level). It carries 40% weightage and has negative marking. About 3 times the category-wise vacancies go forward.
- Phase-II Type Writing Test — 60% weightage, 100 marks: Hindi typing speed and efficiency (25 marks each) and English typing speed and efficiency (25 marks each), 10 minutes per sub-test. PwBD candidates are given the average of their Main examination marks instead.
- Document verification, then the common merit list.
Minimum qualifying marks are 30% for UR candidates and 20% for SC, ST, BC, MBC, EWS, Ex-servicemen and PwBD candidates — and you must reach that mark separately in every part and every phase, not merely on your combined score. For Junior Accountant that means 30%/20% in Part-A and again in Part-B. For Junior Assistant / CA-II it means 30%/20% in the Pre-examination, again in the Main, and again in the Type Writing Test. The Pre carries no weightage in the merit, but you still have to clear its qualifying mark.
For both posts, candidates up to about two times the category-wise vacancies are then called for document verification in merit order, and the Common Merit List follows. Appointment and company allotment are decided from that list on the basis of merit, company preference and category-wise vacancy availability. In case of a tie, the elder candidate is placed higher. Question papers are bilingual except the Hindi General and English General sections, and in case of any ambiguity the English version prevails. Since typing carries 60% weightage for Junior Assistant, start Hindi and English typing practice today — and use our exam syllabus and pattern guides for the written part.
How to Apply Online for RVUNL Junior Accountant & Junior Assistant 2026?
Applications are accepted online only on the Rajasthan Energy Department websites. Follow these steps:
- Visit the official recruitment portal (direct application link given in the Essential Links section below).
- Click Apply Online, then Click Here For New Registration, and enter your name, contact details and email ID.
- Save the Provisional Registration Number and Password displayed on screen — it is also sent by email and SMS.
- Upload your photograph (4.5cm × 3.5cm), signature in black ink, left thumb impression and a handwritten declaration written in English in your own handwriting.
- Give your company preference order thoughtfully — it is final and irrevocable.
- Click Preview, then Final Submit, and complete the fee payment online.
Two warnings you must not ignore. Your signature in capital letters will be rejected, and the handwritten declaration must be in English only — if written in any other language or by anyone else, the application is invalid. Also there is no correction window at all. You may apply for both posts separately, but more than one application for the same post means only the latest completed one is kept and the fee paid earlier is forfeited. PwBD candidates needing a scribe must arrange one at their own cost — the scribe must be at least one step below your qualification, from a different academic stream, and not a candidate in the same exam.
