Rajasthan Power Companies Hiring 869 Junior Engineers — One Form for Five Nigams
Engineering graduates in Rajasthan, here is a big common recruitment to note. Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. (RVUN) has released Advertisement No. RVUN/Rectt.-2026-27/02 for the common recruitment of Junior Engineer-I with 869 vacancies. A single application covers all five Rajasthan State Power Companies — RVUN, RVPN, JVVN, AVVN and JdVVN. After a two-year training period you move to Pay Matrix Level-10 with a basic pay of ₹33,800 per month, and there is no interview anywhere in the process.
The application window is open from 5 August to 25 August 2026 only, so please do not delay. This drive is for candidates holding a full-time four-year engineering degree taken as a regular student, or AMIE, in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil — and you must also have working knowledge of Hindi in Devnagri script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture, which the notification lists as part of the educational qualification itself. In this article on GovtJobsAlert.in we cover it all in simple language. Do also check more Rajasthan government jobs here.

Vacancy Breakdown — RVUNL Junior Engineer 2026
Electrical engineers get the lion’s share with 727 posts. Mechanical vacancies exist only in RVUN and Civil vacancies only in RVPN, so please check your discipline carefully before filling company preferences.

| Electrical | JVVN | 189 |
| Electrical | RVPN | 162 |
| Electrical | AVVN | 144 |

| Electrical | RVUN | 109 |
| Mechanical | RVUN | 110 |
| Civil | RVPN | 32 |

The notification does not print a combined figure — 869 is the sum of the company-wise Non-TSP and TSP (Tribal Sub-Plan) figures printed for each discipline. Reservation for women, PwBD, Ex-servicemen and in-service Nigam employees is horizontal — such candidates are adjusted back into their own social category. If you belong to a TSP area or the Saharia category you must state it in the form, otherwise the benefit is lost; TSP-area candidates are considered against both TSP and Non-TSP vacancies. You must give your company preference in the application form itself, and no second chance is given to change it. Vacancy numbers may also increase or decrease at each nigam’s discretion without any corrigendum.
Eligibility Criteria — RVUNL Junior Engineer 2026
Educational Qualification
Please read this very carefully — this is a degree-level post, not a diploma post. You need a full-time four-year graduation degree in Engineering as a regular student, or AMIE, from a university or institution established by law in India and recognised by AICTE.
- Electrical: Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Electrical, Instrumentation & Control / Power Systems & High Voltage / Power Electronics / Power Engineering or equivalent
- Mechanical: Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering / Production & Industrial / Thermal / Mechanical & Automation / Power Engineering or equivalent
- Civil: Structural / Civil Construction / Civil Engineering or equivalent
Candidates must also possess working knowledge of Hindi written in Devnagri script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture. Final year students may apply, but you must produce your degree proof at document verification. If you hold an engineering degree, do explore other graduate level government jobs on our site as well.
Reserved Category Certificates
If you are claiming reservation, note two conditions that trip up many candidates. Your SC / ST / EWS or BC / MBC non-creamy-layer certificate must be issued in the prescribed format by the competent authority of Rajasthan state only — a certificate from any other state will not be accepted, either for reservation or for the fee concession. And BC / MBC non-creamy-layer certificates, as well as EWS income and assets certificates, must have been issued within the last 12 months. EWS candidates must additionally be bonafide residents of Rajasthan with family gross annual income below ₹8 lakh.
PwBD Eligibility
The notification allows only specific disability types for these posts: Deaf / Hard of Hearing; Locomotor Disability (One Arm, One Leg, Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victim, as listed post-wise); Autism Spectrum Disorder (Mild), Specific Learning Disability and Mental Illness; and Multiple Disability involving these. Visual Impairment is not listed against any of the three posts, and the notification states that persons with any benchmark disability other than those listed are not eligible. Shortlisted PwBD candidates must also be re-verified by a Medical Board constituted by the Medical Department, Government of Rajasthan at Divisional Headquarters — your existing disability certificate alone will not decide eligibility.
Age Limit
Age is counted as on 1 January 2027 — not the application date. The maximum age is 43 years in RVPN and 40 years in the other companies; the notification explains that direct recruitment has not been held for the same length of time in every Nigam.
| Post & Company | Age Limit |
|---|---|
| JE-I Electrical — RVUN, JVVN, AVVN, JdVVN | 21 to 40 years |
| JE-I Electrical & Civil — RVPN | 21 to 43 years |
| JE-I Mechanical — RVUN | 21 to 40 years |
🎂 Not sure if you meet the age criteria? Use our free Age Calculator for Government Exams to find your exact age on the 1 January 2027 cut-off date and check your eligibility. Relaxation is non-cumulative — you may claim it under only one provision, except for PwBD candidates. →
Age relaxation on the upper limit is 5 years for male SC, ST, BC, MBC and EWS candidates and for General category women; 10 years for women of SC, ST, BC, MBC and EWS categories; and 5 years for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, in addition to their category relaxation. Ex-servicemen get 15 years, but if the relaxed age works out above 50, an upper limit of 50 years applies. NCC Cadet Instructors get relaxation equal to their NCC service; released Emergency and Short Service Commissioned Officers are deemed within the age limit; ex-prisoners get relief under the notification’s own clauses. There is no upper age limit for widows and divorced women, for persons repatriated from Pakistan during the 1971 war, and for candidates already serving in a Vidyut Nigam who apply to that same Nigam. Candidates who did apprenticeship training in the same Nigam get 1 extra year. One important catch — relaxation is non-cumulative: you may claim it under only one provision and two clauses cannot be clubbed, the only exception being Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.
The notification also carries the standard Rajasthan disqualification rules. A candidate with more than two children on or after 1 June 2002 is not eligible — with relief where more than one child is born from a single subsequent delivery, where an earlier child has a disability, and for widows and divorced women. Candidates with more than one living spouse, those married to a person who already has a living spouse, and those who accepted dowry are also disqualified.
What is the Salary for RVUNL Junior Engineer 2026?
The pay structure here has two clear stages, and it is important to understand both before you apply.
- During training: you are engaged as a Probationer Trainee for two years on a fixed remuneration of ₹23,700 per month
- After training: you are fixed at the minimum first cell of Level-10 in the Pay Matrix, that is a basic pay of ₹33,800 per month
- Allowances and other benefits are then paid as per the relevant rules of the nigam
- Bond: on appointment you must furnish a Bond with Surety as per the Regulations — the notification does not print the bond amount or its tenure
After the two-year probation training you move on to the Level-10 pay matrix with allowances as per the Nigam’s rules — a settled engineering role in one of Rajasthan’s five state power companies, working on generation, transmission or distribution across the state.
What is the Selection Process for RVUNL Junior Engineer 2026?
The process is short and completely merit based. RVUN has stated in plain words that there shall be no interview.
- Computer Based Common Written Competitive Examination — conducted separately for each discipline, online mode, objective type MCQs, 2 hours duration.
- Document verification — candidates up to about two times the category-wise vacancies are called in merit order.
- Common merit list, appointment and company allotment — based on merit, your company preference and category-wise vacancy availability.
Separately from these stages, every selected candidate must be in good mental and bodily health and produce a fitness certificate from a Medical Authority notified by the Nigam at the time of appointment.
Exam Pattern
| Part | Content | Weightage |
|---|---|---|
| Part-A | Engineering degree level, your discipline | 60% |
| Part-B | Reasoning, Maths, GK, Hindi, English | 40% |
There is negative marking for each wrong answer, though the notification does not print the exact deduction. In Part-B, Mathematics is at Class-XII level while Hindi General and English General are at Class-X level, and General Knowledge carries special reference to Rajasthan. Part-B is bilingual except for the Hindi General and English General sections.
You must score the minimum qualifying marks separately in Part-A and in Part-B — 30% in each for UR candidates and 20% in each for SC, ST, BC, MBC, EWS, Ex-servicemen and PwBD candidates. Your final merit position is then decided on the combined marks of both parts. If two or more candidates score the same, the tie is broken in this order: for vacancies of the Nigam where you did your apprenticeship, candidates who completed apprenticeship training in that Vidyut Nigam under the Apprentices Act, 1961 rank en bloc senior to everyone who did not, and among such apprentices the one trained earlier ranks higher; this preference does not apply to any other Nigam. Otherwise the elder candidate is placed higher. Start your preparation using our exam syllabus and pattern guides.
One caution worth taking seriously — unfair means, impersonation, or carrying a mobile phone into the exam hall can lead to disqualification, debarment from all Vidyut Nigam exams and termination of service, on top of prosecution under the Rajasthan Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act, 2022 and the central Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.
How to Apply Online for RVUNL Junior Engineer 2026?
Applications are accepted online only on the Rajasthan Energy Department websites — no other mode will be accepted. Follow these steps:
- Visit the official recruitment portal (direct application link given in the Essential Links section below).
- Click Apply Online, then choose Click Here For New Registration and enter your name, contact details and email ID.
- Note down the Provisional Registration Number and Password shown on screen — it is also sent by email and SMS.
- Use Save and Next to fill the form in parts, and verify every detail before moving ahead.
- Upload your photograph (4.5cm × 3.5cm), signature in black ink, left thumb impression and a handwritten declaration in English. In addition, you must capture and upload a live photograph using your webcam or mobile phone.
- Give your company preference order carefully — it cannot be changed later.
- Use the Preview tab, then click Final Submit, and finally complete the fee payment.
Two warnings that matter a lot here. First, neither your signature nor your handwritten declaration may be in capital letters — such applications are rejected, and the declaration must be in your own handwriting and in English only, else the application is treated as invalid. Second, no correction window exists; once you click Final Submit, nothing can be changed. Submitting more than one application for the same post means only the latest is kept and the earlier fee is forfeited.

Exams are proposed at 12 Rajasthan cities — Ajmer, Alwar, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Dausa, Hanumangarh, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Sikar, Sriganganagar and Udaipur. Application Fees — RVUNL Junior Engineer Recruitment 2026
| Category | Application Fee |
|---|---|
| UR (General) | ₹1,000 (including GST) |
| SC / ST / BC / MBC / EWS / PwBD / Saharias | ₹500 (including GST) |
Bank transaction charges are borne by the candidate. Creamy-layer BC and MBC candidates are treated as UR and must pay ₹1,000, and reserved category candidates from outside Rajasthan are also treated as UR and pay ₹1,000. The fee is never refunded and cannot be carried to another recruitment. One reassurance from the notification — paying the reduced fee alone does not make you ineligible for an Unreserved vacancy.
