WB Police Driver Recruitment 2026: Contractual Driver Vacancy, Eligibility & Drop Box Details
West Bengal Police is hiring contractual Drivers in 11 district police and battalion units. The 11-unit total is 70 posts. The notices we have cover 53 posts in 8 units. The pay is ₹16,000 per month, fixed, for a one-year contract. If you are Class VIII pass and hold a valid LMV or HMV licence, read on. This is a police job with a low education bar.

The 70 total and the counts for the last three units come from the department’s unit notices, which are not attached here. We could not check them against a notice. The 53 posts of the eight attached units match their notices exactly. No notice gives a category-wise split or any reservation rule, so we show none.
SAP 13th Battalion’s notice partly modifies an earlier notice of 12 October 2026. SAP 8th Battalion’s notice is a corrigendum that partly cancels its earlier notice. SAP 8th Battalion (3 posts) and Murshidabad Police District (6 posts) are two different units, so apply to the one you want.
What is the Eligibility for WB Police Driver 2026?

The three-year licence is counted on the date of advertisement (Murshidabad: date of publication of the notice; Krishnanagar gives no date).
Kalimpong is different. It asks for Class VIII pass from a recognised school and a valid four-wheeler driving licence. It has no Bengali clause and no three-year licence clause. Its three years of experience must be driving experience. Kalimpong and Krishnanagar also want a permanent resident of West Bengal, and local residents of their own district are preferred.

What is the Salary for WB Police Driver 2026?
The pay is ₹16,000 per month, a fixed consolidated amount, in all eight attached notices. Kalimpong and Krishnanagar add that it is subject to applicable statutory deductions. The contract runs for one year, as per a Government of West Bengal order dated 30 September 2026.
The notices say no claim for regularisation will be entertained. Kalimpong adds that contractual drivers cannot be absorbed into the regular government establishment in any case. Think of this as a one-year paid job with a police unit, not a permanent post.

How to Apply Offline for WB Police Driver 2026?
- Pick your unit and download the form (Annexure-I) from the website named in that unit’s notice. The links are in Essential Links below. Murshidabad’s form is printed in its own notice.
- Fill the form in capital letters and write your mobile number clearly.
- Attach self-attested copies of your education certificate, age proof, driving licence, address proof (preferably Aadhaar Card) and experience certificate.
- Put the form and papers in the drop box of your unit, as shown in the dates table below. Kalimpong and Krishnanagar say do not send by post.
- Hand it in by the last date of your unit.
Kalimpong and Krishnanagar want the form on white A4 paper with a passport photo pasted top right. Kalimpong’s envelope must read “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF DRIVER (CONTRACTUAL), 2026”. Krishnanagar and Purulia also give an envelope heading, so check your notice.

The notices do not give a calendar date for the “within 14 days” units, and we do not guess one. Check your unit’s website for the publication date. The SAP 13th form was to be available from 18 October 2026. Bongaon, Darjeeling and Dakshin Dinajpur dates are not available to us.
