What Is the Consolidated Fee for DERC Senior Research Consultant and Consultant Posts 2026?

The pay here is called a consolidated fee, and it is paid to you, not by you. It is not a pay level.

ComponentDetail
Senior Research Consultant (all four streams)Rs 1,25,000 to Rs 1,45,000 per month
Consultant (HR)Rs 1,05,000 to Rs 1,20,000 per month
Mobile and internetReimbursement up to Rs 1,500 per month
Tour outside DelhiTrain travel, AC II or AC III, reimbursed
Leave15 days a year, plus gazetted holidays

The exact fee is decided by the Commission case to case. It is fixed after looking at the average pay you drew in the last three months of your previous job. The notification says the fee may be revised at the end of every year with a 10% escalation, so treat the escalation as a possibility, not a promise. TDS is deducted as per Income Tax rules. Because the fee depends on what you earned in your last job, keep your last three salary slips handy and be honest in the form, since the Commission will check them. A consultant who is paid well here still has no fixed pay scale, no pay level and no promise of a permanent post.

What Is the Selection Process for DERC Recruitment 2026?

StageDetail
Qualifying testHeld only if the eligible candidates for a post are more than 10
ShortlistingIf a test is held, only the 10 candidates who qualify on merit are called
InterviewCalled candidates meet the Selection Committee
DocumentsOriginals are checked before the interaction

Please remember, meeting the minimum qualification does not entitle you to be called for the test or interview. The notification does not give any test pattern, syllabus or qualifying marks, so keep an eye on the DERC website. Bring the originals of your qualification and experience documents and your salary slips for the past six months. If a test is held, the Commission has said the top 10 on merit go ahead, so a single mark can decide who is called. Start revising the core topics of your stream now, such as tariff orders, ARR and true-up petitions, MYT Regulations, capital expenditure review, contract and labour law, or HR and service rules, depending on your post. These are drawn from the scope of work in the notification, not from a syllabus.
