How Many Vacancies Are There in DFCCIL Recruitment 2026?
| Level | Designation (from HR Policy) | Posts |
|---|---|---|
| E0-E1 | Executive (E0) / Sr. Executive (E1) | 8 |
| N5-N7 | Jr. Executive (N5 / N6 / N7) | 2 |
| Total | Mechanical, Ambala | 10 |
The advertisement prints only the levels. The designation names come from the attached HR Policy 28/2022. No category-wise split is given.
What is the Eligibility for DFCCIL Recruitment 2026?
You must have worked in the Mechanical Department of Indian Railways (C&W, Workshop or Loco Shed background) and retired from CDA Scale Level 02 to Level 07. The attached HR Policy 28/2022 decides which level suits which post.
| Substantive level at retirement | Post level |
|---|---|
| Level-07 | Sr. Executive (E1) |
| Level-06, retired as Supervisor | Executive (E0) |
| Level-5/6, retired as Sr. Technician or MCM | Jr. Executive (N7) |
| Level-4 and 5 | Jr. Executive (N6) |
| Level-2 and 3 | Jr. Executive (N5) |
Your PPO is the proof here. Look at the pay level written as your substantive grade, because that level, plus your designation, decides E0-E1 or N5-N7.
- MACP does not count. Only the substantive or regular pay level or grade pay is considered. Level or grade pay held under MACP at retirement is not considered.
- SSE exception. Retired SSE and similar staff who retired from Level-08 or Level-09 solely because of post upgradation are treated as Level-07 and can go for Sr. Executive (E1) posts. Circular 07/2026 added this rule.
- Earlier DFCCIL staff. Anyone who worked in DFCCIL in any capacity but was terminated or separated, or whose re-employment extension was not granted, will not be considered for interview.
Who Cannot Be Engaged (Vigilance Rules)
Retired persons engaged in DFCCIL should not include the following:
| Excluded Person | Detail |
|---|---|
| Agreed/Secret list or current cases | On the current “Agreed/Secret” list, or in any current Vigilance or CBI case, or facing disciplinary or prosecution action |
| Major or repeated penalties | A major penalty, or two or more minor penalties, or administrative action three or more times, or one minor penalty plus two administrative actions after Vigilance/CBI action |
| Recent penalty | Minor penalty or administrative action after Vigilance/CBI action in the last 5 years of service |
Age Limit
| Condition | Age |
|---|---|
| On the date of walk-in interview | Must not exceed 64 years |
| Maximum working age | 65 years |
The advertisement explains that one year of residual service to reach 65 should remain on the date of advertisement. Preference goes to retired employees with good health. No age relaxation is mentioned.

What is the Salary for DFCCIL Recruitment 2026?
The notification says pay is fixed under HR Policy and revised from time to time. The figures below come from the attached HR Policy 28/2022, not from the advertisement body.
| Component | Detail |
|---|---|
| Monthly remuneration | 50% of last basic pay drawn plus applicable DA |
| Conveyance (E0 to E3) | ₹2,000 a month, or ₹1,200 if posted outside the larger cities listed in the policy |
| Conveyance (up to N7) | ₹1,600 a month, or ₹1,000 if posted outside those cities |
| Mobile charges | ₹500 a month |
| Leave | 2 days for every completed month of contract |
The policy lists Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and a few other big cities for the higher rate, and Ambala is not among them. Remember that the remuneration is half of your last basic pay plus DA, so it is a re-employment payment and not a fresh pay scale. No other allowance is admissible. On duty travel, TA, DA and lodging follow the HR policy. Leave has no special name like CL or EL, and unused leave cannot be carried forward to the next calendar year. The policy also bars outside assignments for full-time re-employed staff while they are with DFCCIL.
What is the Selection Process for DFCCIL Recruitment 2026?
| Stage | Detail |
|---|---|
| Document check | DFCCIL officials check applications and documents at the venue |
| Walk-in interview | Panel is formed through the interview |
| Medical examination | Selected candidates must be found medically fit |
The attached policy says the interview is marked out of 40 and the qualifying mark is 60 per cent of 40. It also says police verification follows after orders are issued. Only those who meet the advertisement criteria and produce the necessary documents are allowed into the interview. Reporting closes at 12:00 noon, so plan to reach in time. Selected candidates get an offer as per DFCCIL’s requirement, and they are considered only if found medically fit in addition to meeting all other criteria.
