There is no Unreserved seat in Mathematics, and no OBC or EWS seat in any row. The 6 Assistant Professor seats are spread across Pay Levels 10, 11 and 12 with no fixed number for any one Pay Level. If you are found eligible for more than one Pay Level, you may be considered for each, and the final appointment is made at the Pay Level where you are found suitable. Reservation for PwD candidates is horizontal, and the notification gives no separate PwD count.
What is the Eligibility for IIIT Sonepat Faculty Posts 2026?
All posts need a Ph.D. in the relevant or equivalent discipline, with first class in all preceding degrees from Bachelor’s onwards. For Engineering, that means B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent in the relevant discipline. A Ph.D. taken directly after B.Tech./B.E. from a reputed institution is also considered, but you need first class at Bachelor’s level. For Mathematics, you need first class at both UG and PG (60% or 6.5/10 CGPA) with a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline.
If your university does not mention first class, you need at least 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale or 60% aggregate. Your university’s own CGPA-to-percentage conversion will not be accepted. If your CGPA is on any other scale, attach a certificate from an authorised signatory (not your mentor, supervisor or head of department) saying you secured first class, or convert the CGPA to a 10-point scale. All degrees must come from institutes recognised by UGC, AICTE, AIU or the Government of India.

Only experience on a regular basis counts. Part-time, daily wages, ad hoc, visiting, guest faculty, fixed remuneration, contractual and temporary service will not be considered. Experience must be in the applicable pay scales as per UGC, AICTE, Government of India or PSUs. Patents are only desirable, never essential. The 60-year line is guidance, not a hard bar. It is relaxed only for faculty with an exceptionally brilliant research career and an ongoing or approved externally funded research project. The notification grants no category-wise age relaxation.

Shortlisting can consider your specialisation (including micro-specialisation), academic record higher than the minimum, the NIRF or QS ranking of the institutions you studied at, and your SCI/SCIE/SSCI publications, patents and sponsored projects. The hard copy goes to the Office of IIIT Sonepat, IIT Delhi Sonepat Campus, I-Tech Technopark Plot No 4, Rajiv Gandhi Education City, Rai, Sonipat 131029, Haryana. Late hard copies are rejected, including those delayed in the post. If you work in a government department, PSU, university or educational institution, upload a No Objection Certificate and a Vigilance Clearance Certificate (the NOC format is in the notification). If you do not have them yet, upload an undertaking, but you must show both at the test or interview or you will not be allowed to appear. SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS candidates must upload a category certificate from an authority not below Tehsildar or a First-Class Magistrate; OBC-NCL/EWS certificates must be issued on or after 1 April 2026.
