    • Pre-eligibility qualification of B.E./B.Tech with an aggregate minimum of 65% (average of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.84 on a 10-point scale. For candidates with AMIE, a minimum of 65% marks or CGPA 6.84 in Section B alone is required. 
    • Specific specializations required:
      • Post Code 24 (Urban Studies): M.E. / M.Tech in Urban Planning / Regional Planning or equivalent WITH B.E./ B.Tech in Planning or B.Arch. 
      • Post Code 25 (Water Resources): M.E./ M.Tech in Civil Engineering (with specialization in Water Resources/Hydrology/Soil & Water Conservation) OR Agriculture Engineering (with specialization in Water Resources/ Hydrology/Soil & Water Conservation) OR Water Resources Engineering (with specialization in Water Resources/ Hydrology/Soil & Water Conservation) WITH B.E./ B.Tech in Civil Engineering / Agriculture Engineering. 
      • Post Code 26 (Geoinformatics): M.E. / M. Tech in Remote Sensing and GIS / Geoinformatics / Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning or equivalent WITH B.E./ B.Tech in Computer Science / Geoinformatics. 

Important Notes on Qualifications:

  • Essential qualifications should be completed within the stipulated duration of the course. 
  • Candidates completing their course in the academic year 2024-25 are eligible, provided their final/provisional degree certificate is available by August 31, 2025. 
  • If a university mentions both CGPA and percentage, at least one must meet the eligibility criteria. 
  • If only CGPA is mentioned, it must meet the criteria; conversion to percentage is not permitted for determining eligibility. The same applies if only percentage is mentioned. 
  • For Dual/Integrated Degree Programmes, specific rules apply for CGPA/Percentage calculation based on how it’s mentioned in the certificate. 
  • Candidates who registered for AMIE from the Institution of Engineers (India) after May 31, 2013, will not be considered.

Salary & Benefits: What to Expect as an ISRO NRSC Scientist

Selected candidates for the Scientist/Engineer-‘SC’ post will be appointed in Level-10 of the Pay Matrix as per the 7th CPC. 

  • Pay Scale: ₹ 56,100 – ₹ 1,77,500

Selection Process for ISRO NRSC Scientist Recruitment

The selection process will involve two stages:

  1. Written Test:
    • For M.Sc. based recruitments (Post Codes 20 to 23):
      • Part-A (Area/Discipline Specific): 80 MCQs, 80 Marks (+1 for correct, -0.33 for incorrect answer). Duration: 90 Minutes. 
      • Part-B (Aptitude/Ability Tests): Maximum 15 MCQs (to be decided by NRSC), 20 Marks (no negative marking). Duration: 30 Minutes. 
      • Total: 100 Marks. 
    • For M.Tech based recruitments (Post Codes 24 to 26):
      • Part-A (Area/Discipline Specific): 60 MCQs, 60 Marks (+1 for correct, -0.33 for incorrect answer). Duration: 75 Minutes. 
      • Part-B (Aptitude/Ability Tests): Maximum 15 MCQs (to be decided by NRSC), 20 Marks (no negative marking). Duration: 30 Minutes. 
      • Part-C (Descriptive Questions): 20 Marks. Duration: 30 Minutes. 
      • Total: 100 Marks. 
    • Candidates will be shortlisted for the Interview based on their performance in the Written Test, generally in a 1:5 ratio (minimum 10 candidates per category-wise vacancy). 
  2. Interview:
    • For the final panel generation (Post Codes 20-26), 50% weightage will be given to Written Test marks and 50% to Interview marks. 

Pass Criteria:

  • General Standards:
    • Post Codes 20-23: 50% each in Part A & B of Written Test; 50/100 Marks in Interview; Aggregate 60%. 
    • Post Codes 24-26: 50% each in Part A, B & C of Written Test; 50/100 Marks in Interview; Aggregate 60%. 
  • Relaxed Standards (for reserved PwBD posts if sufficient candidates under general standards are not available):
    • Post Codes 20-23: 40% each in Part A & B of Written Test; 40/100 Marks in Interview; Aggregate 50%.

Tie-Breaking Rule: In case of a tie in the final empanelment, the inter-se merit will be decided based on:

  1. Marks scored in the Written Test. 
  2. Marks scored in the essential qualification. 
  3. Date of Birth, with older candidates placed higher.

  1. Visit the Official Website: Applications will be received online only through the NRSC website. The application portal will be active from May 10, 2025 (1000 hours) to May 30, 2025 (1700 hours). 
  2. Online Registration: Register on the portal. Upon registration, you will receive an online Registration Number, which should be preserved for future reference. Ensure your E-mail ID and Mobile Number are furnished correctly. 
  3. Fill the Application Form: Complete the application form with accurate details.
  4. Upload Documents: Candidates are required to upload clear images/scanned copies of the following:
    • Recent passport-size color photograph (not older than 6 months, .jpg/.jpeg, max 40KB, 110x140px). 
    • Signature (.jpg/.jpeg, max 20KB, 200x50px).

Application Fees for ISRO NRSC Scientist Recruitment

  • There is a non-refundable Application Fee of ₹250/- (Rupees Two Hundred and Fifty only) for each application. 
  • However, initially, all candidates must uniformly pay ₹750/- (Rupees Seven Hundred and Fifty only) per application as a Processing Fee. 
  • Refund Policy: The Processing fee will be refunded only to candidates who appear in the Written Test, as follows:
    • ₹750/- (Full Refund): For candidates exempted from Application Fee (women, SC/ST/PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen). 
    • ₹500/- (Partial Refund): For all other candidates (after deducting the ₹250/- Application Fee). 
  • Refund will be made only to the bank account details provided in the application. NRSC will not be responsible for failure to grant a refund due to incorrect bank details. No refund if a candidate fails to appear for the Written Test. 
  • Service charges for fee payment, if any, will be borne by the applicant. 
  • Payment in any other form like cash, cheque, draft, money order, IPO, etc., is not allowed.
