For the JTO, you need one of three education routes. First, a Master’s in Hindi or English with the other language as a main subject at degree level. Second, a Master’s in any subject with Hindi as medium of instruction and examination, English compulsory at degree level. Third, a Bachelor’s with Hindi and English as main subjects (or one as exam medium) plus a recognised translation diploma or certificate, or two years of translation experience in Central or State Government offices or Government of India undertakings. Experience in industrial development, foreign trade, estate development and administration is desirable, not compulsory.
The Assistant post has a small mix-up. One line in the methodology says only Central Government employees can be considered, while the eligibility paragraph also allows State Governments, PSUs and autonomous bodies. If you are from a State department or PSU, check this point in the notification before applying. For Stenographer II, Stenographer III and UDC, the notification lists no degree, only service and speed conditions.

|---|---|
| Incomplete papers | Applications found incomplete, or sent without the required documents, will not be entertained |
| NOC | You must get a No Objection Certificate from your Head of Department before applying |

How to Apply for MEPZ SEZ Deputation 2026 Offline?
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Download the circular from Essential Links and copy the application proforma printed as Annexure II |
| 2 | Fill the proforma (name in block letters): post applied for, date of birth, date of retirement, qualifications, present pay, service details, experience and whether you belong to SC/ST/OBC |
| 3 | Get your NOC from your Head of Department |
| 4 | Attach APARs for the last five years, in original or attested photocopies |
| 5 | Attach an Integrity Certificate or Vigilance Clearance, and the penalty details of the last five years |
| 6 | Send the full set by post, through proper channel, to the Development Commissioner, MEPZ Special Economic Zone, Admin Building, G.S.T Road, Tambaram, Chennai 600 045 |
Applications are checked month by month, so do not wait for a deadline that does not exist. The notification gives no envelope instruction, no email and no online link, so use the postal route only. Keep photocopies of everything you send.
A small tip from a bhaiya who has seen many deputation files stuck in offices: ask your section to forward the papers early. An application that reaches MEPZ without the NOC, the APARs or the vigilance papers is treated as incomplete, and the notification says such papers will not be entertained.

If you are a serving officer in a matching post, this is a good chance to move to Chennai on deputation. This post will not suit a fresh graduate or a private employee, so share it with a friend who works in a government office. Speak to your office this week about the NOC and APARs, because those papers take the longest. Remember that there is no fixed last date, but vacancies can be filled at any time.
