Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Citizenship: Must be an Indian Citizen as per Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.
Registration: Must have requisite qualifications and registration under Assam Council of Medical Registration or Medical Council of India / National Medical Commission.
Educational Qualification:
- Broad Speciality: A Post Graduate qualification (MD/MS/DNB/MDS) in the concerned subject from an institute recognized by NMC/NBE/DCI is required for most departments. Specific requirements for Anatomy, Biochemistry, and Physiology involve MS/MD or MSc with a PhD in the respective medical subject.
- Super Specialty: For Medical Super Specialties (like Cardiology, Neurology, etc.), an MD/DNB in General Medicine is required. For Surgical Super Specialties (like Plastic Surgery, CTVS, etc.), an MS/DNB in General Surgery is needed. Preference will be given to candidates holding DM/M.Ch./DNB qualifications in the concerned super specialty subject.
Age Limit: Candidates should be between 21 and 45 years of age as of January 1, 2023.
Age Relaxation:
- Upper age limit is relaxable by 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (PWD), irrespective of category.
Disability Categories Considered: Orthopedically handicapped (with at least one arm and one leg), low vision. Hearing handicapped and blind candidates may be considered if they can perform duties with aids and appliances.
Experience: Weightage will be given to doctors working under Rule 17A of MHRB Regulations or on contractual engagements under the Medical Education & Research Department, including post-PG contractual roles.
Existing Govt. Employees: Doctors currently serving under DME/DHS/NHM, Assam, and other Govt. Agencies are eligible and do not require a separate No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the State Govt. to apply. However, those in other State/Central Govt. services or undertakings must apply through the proper channels and submit an NOC physically to the MHRB office, along with a release order upon joining.

Salary & Benefits

Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of Rs. 57,700/- to Rs. 1,82,400/- PM (Academic Level 10) plus other allowances as admissible under the rules. This position offers a stable government job with associated benefits and allowances as per Assam Government norms.
