Punjabi passed up to Matric standard is essential for every post. For Assistant Professor, the 5% relaxation in the Bachelor’s and Master’s marks applies to SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer) and differently abled candidates. Ph.D. holders who earned their Master’s before 19 September 1991 get 55% relaxed to 50%. M.Phil./Ph.D. time counts as teaching experience only if you taught alongside without leave.
Desirable skills are listed for three posts, but they are not the minimum. For System Administrator, the notification prefers Windows and Linux administration, managing network switches, routers, firewalls and VPNs, and campus network design. For Programmer, it prefers web programming (Java, .NET, PHP, Python), databases such as MySQL and MSSQL, and cloud knowledge. For Law Researcher, it prefers University or service law, writs, contracts, disciplinary matters, RTI, arbitration and constitutional law.
Age Limit
The notification gives no age number. It says only that the age limit is as per UGC and Punjab Government rules, so check which of those rules applies to your post before applying.

How to Apply for PSOU Recruitment 2026 Online and by Hard Copy?
The notification uses one process for all posts. Application is online and hard copy, both mandatory.
- Open the official PSOU website (link in Essential Links below) and start the registration for your post.
- Fill every mandatory field, especially the Academic and Research Scores.
- Upload your photograph and signature as JPEG files, each up to 150 KB.
- Reserved-category candidates must upload a Punjab State Domicile or Residence Certificate.
- Pay the fee online and submit the form by 15 November 2026.
- Take five printouts of the online form and paste the same photograph used online on them.
- Attach one set of self-attested copies of degrees, mark sheets, experience and category certificates.
- Send the set to the Registrar at Mohindra Kothi, Fountain Chownk, Patiala 147001, Punjab so it arrives by 23 November 2026, 5:00 pm.
Fee and domicile are linked, so read this before you pay. The notification asks every reserved-category candidate to upload a Punjab domicile or residence certificate, and SC/ST and PwBD candidates not domiciled in Punjab pay the General fee, so check your own certificate first.
