Special upper limits apply to Home Guards (40 years) for Constable-level posts, and to widowed, divorced or judicially separated women who have not remarried — 40 years for SC and ST and 35 years for others — for specified Constable and Warder posts.

Eye sight standards are strict — 6/6 distant vision and 0/5 near vision in both eyes, full field of vision, and no colour blindness or squint. The notifications also list conditions that will disqualify you at the medical stage: knock-knees, pigeon chest, flat foot, varicose veins, hammer toes, fractured limbs, decayed teeth, stammering and hard of hearing. And note the hard rule — no postponement or reconsideration of any stage is allowed under any circumstances, and you must attend every test in the prescribed order.
What is the Salary for TSLPRB Telangana Police Recruitment 2026?
Pay scales are fixed by post group and are stated clearly in the notifications.
- Sub Inspector, Reserve SI and SPF Sub Inspector: ₹42,300 – ₹1,15,270
- Station Fire Officer and Deputy Jailor: ₹38,890 – ₹1,12,510
- Assistant Sub Inspector, Fingerprint Bureau: ₹33,750 – ₹99,310
- Police Constable, SPF Constable, Fire Fighter and Warder: ₹24,280 – ₹72,850
Sub Inspector posts start in the ₹42,300 – ₹1,15,270 scale, while Constable-level posts start in the ₹24,280 – ₹72,850 scale, as notified.
One point candidates often miss: most of these posts are notified as SCT (Stipendiary Cadet Trainee) — Sub Inspector, Reserve SI, SPF SI and Constable, Police Constable, ASI Fingerprint Bureau, PC Mechanics and PC Driver. During institutional training you draw a stipend fixed by the Government, and you are appointed to the regular pay scale shown above only on successful completion of training.
On pension, read the notification carefully: employees appointed on or after 1 September 2004 are covered by the Contributory Pension Scheme, and the older Revised Pension Rules, 1980 do not apply to them.
What is the Selection Process for TSLPRB Recruitment 2026?
The process is long and has several elimination points, so plan your preparation across all of them together.
Stage 1: Preliminary Written Test
Applicable to the Sub Inspector and Police Constable notifications. One paper of three hours carrying 200 marks with 200 questions — Arithmetic and Test of Reasoning, and General Studies. There is negative marking of 20% of full marks for every wrong answer. Qualifying marks are 30% for OC and EWS, 25% for BC and 20% for SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen and Home Guards. There is no Preliminary Written Test for ASI Fingerprint Bureau, PC Mechanics or PC Driver.
Stage 2: Part-II Application Upload
Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Written Test log in again to upload the Part-II application with scanned certificates.
Stage 3: Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Measurement Test
The Run event comes first, measured with RFID timing. For some posts the Run is only qualifying; for others it carries up to 100 marks on a gradation scale. Height measurement follows for those who clear the Run, and then Long Jump and Shot-put, both qualifying in nature. A useful concession: PMT and PET are conducted only once across all TSLPRB notifications issued within three months, and the same readings count for every post you applied to.
Stage 4: Trade Test or Driving Test
Only for PC Mechanics and PC Driver — each carries 100 marks with a minimum of 50 marks required in aggregate.
Stage 5: Final Written Examination
The Sub Inspector notification has four papers of three hours each, covering English, Telugu or Urdu, Arithmetic and Reasoning, and General Studies. The Constable notification has one paper of three hours with 200 questions, carrying 200 marks for Police Constable (Civil), Fire Fighter and Warder posts and 100 marks for Police Constable (AR), Police Constable (SAR CPL) and SPF Constable. The ASI Fingerprint Bureau has three papers (English, Arithmetic and Reasoning, and a Technical paper), and PC Mechanics and PC Driver have a technical paper of 200 questions. Qualifying marks are 40% for OC and EWS, 35% for BC and 30% for SC, ST and Ex-Servicemen. Build your study plan around these stages using our exam syllabus and preparation guides.
