APPSC AE Eligibility Criteria 2025

Candidates aspiring to apply for the APPSC Assistant Engineer Recruitment 2025 must fulfill the following eligibility criteria regarding educational qualification and age limit:

Educational Qualification:

Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree from a recognized university in the relevant engineering discipline as specified for each post.
- Assistant Engineer (Civil) in Public Work Department, Public Health Engineering & Water Supply Department, Urban Development, Urban Local Bodies, Hydro Power Development, Rural Work Department, Water Resource Department: Degree in Civil Engineering or Agricultural Engineering (for some departments, refer to detailed notification).
- Assistant Engineer (Electro-Mechanical) in Hydro Power Development: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- Assistant Engineer (Electrical) in Department of Power: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
Candidates who have appeared or are appearing in the final year/semester examination of their qualifying degree are also eligible to apply. However, they must produce proof of passing the qualifying examination on or before the date of the interview.

Age Limit:

A one-time relaxation on the upper age limit is applicable for General Category candidates born on or after January 1, 1989.
For Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) candidates, the one-time upper age limit relaxation applies if they are born on or after January 1, 1984. This is in accordance with the Department of Administrative Reforms, Government of Arunachal Pradesh Notification vide no. AR/219/2022-US-1-AR dated April 21, 2025.
Age concession for candidates belonging to the PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) Category and regular Government servants of Arunachal Pradesh will be as per existing government rules and regulations.

APPSC AE Salary & Benefits 2025

Selected candidates for the post of Assistant Engineer will be placed in the Pay Matrix Level-10, with a pay scale of ₹56,100/- to ₹1,77,500/-, as admissible under government rules. In addition to the basic pay, Assistant Engineers are entitled to various allowances and benefits as per the norms of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, which may include Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travel Allowance (TA), and other perks, making it an attractive remuneration package.

APPSC AE Selection Process 2025

The selection process for the APPSC Assistant Engineer Recruitment 2025 will involve the following stages:

Written Mains Examination: Eligible candidates will have to appear in a written mains examination. The scheme for the examination is as follows:
- General Paper: General English, General Studies & Aptitude Test (Objective) – 150 Marks
- Technical Paper-I (Descriptive – relevant engineering discipline) – 150 Marks
- Technical Paper-II (Descriptive – relevant engineering discipline) – 150 Marks
Viva-Voce (Interview): Candidates who qualify the written mains examination will be called for a Viva-Voce, which will be conducted by the APPSC and will carry 50 Marks.

- Paper-A (RT) – General Awareness & Logical Reasoning: 100 Marks

One Time Registration (OTR): Before filling the online application, candidates must mandatorily register for OTR on the APPSC website. If already registered, you can log in directly using your user ID and password. Detailed instructions for OTR are available on the website.
