Good news for sports and physiotherapy graduates in Punjab. The Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Punjab Sports University (MBSPSU), Patiala has invited online applications for 122 posts under Advertisement No. 04/2026. Jobs are at the university in Patiala and at two constituent colleges, Jalandhar and Kala Afghana (Gurdaspur). The posts range from Professor to Clerk, so there is something for Ph.D. holders and for 10+2 diploma holders.

For Assistant Professor and Librarian posts, the NET, SLET or SET condition does not apply to Ph.D. holders who meet the UGC Regulations. A 5% relaxation in marks at Bachelor’s and Master’s level applies to SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer) and differently-abled candidates. Ph.D. holders who passed their Master’s before 19 September 1991 get 55% reduced to 50%.
Punjabi rule: All non-teaching, trainer, librarian and college posts need Matriculation with Punjabi as one of the subjects. University teachers are chosen without this condition, but they must pass a Punjabi exam of Matriculation level, or a test by the Language Wing of the Punjab Education Department, within 3 years of joining.

For non-teaching posts, relaxation is up to 5 years for SC, ST, Backward Class and persons with disability. Ex-servicemen get the period of Armed Forces service. Some women categories (widows, divorced, separated and others listed in the notice) get up to 10 years. Government, semi-government and PSU service counts up to the period served. Past adhoc or contractual staff of MBSPSU may also get relaxation. College teachers get reserved-category relaxation as per Government rules.

The notice gives only the minimum pay per month under the 7th CPC pay matrix of the Government of Punjab. It does not print pay levels.

What Is the Selection Process for MBSPSU Recruitment 2026?

Failing the Punjabi test removes a Group-C candidate from the later stages. The Punjabi paper covers the Punjabi language, history, culture, grammar, and biographies and works. The University may also fill posts on a contractual basis instead of regular appointment, and it may cancel, withdraw or withhold a post before appointment.

Keep your degree marks sheets with the CGPA conversion to percentage ready, and the reservation certificate if you claim it. The notice asks for a Punjab Domicile or Residence Certificate not more than five years old along with it. The photo must not be older than 3 months. Only online applications are accepted, and the hard copy alone is not enough.
