What Is the Salary for RITES Individual Consultant Posts 2026?
Payment is a monthly amount for services, as in the vacancy table above. You are an independent consultant, not an employee of RITES, so you get no PF, ESI or gratuity. Tax is deducted at source, and GST is admissible as applicable. Payment is released within one week after the month ends, based on your attendance.
- Tenure: 12 months at first, extendable on performance and project needs. Extensions are on the same project only.
- Pay review: if the contract runs beyond one year, pay may be reviewed yearly, based on escalation in the client’s fee.
- Leave: 1.5 days per completed month, with no carry-over beyond the calendar year.
- Notice: one month from either side, though RITES may end the contract without notice or reason.
- No TA/DA for joining, completion or attending the interview.
- Police verification is done as per MHA instructions. A negative report ends the contract immediately.
- Insurance: you arrange your own life and health cover. If you suffer death, injury or illness from work done for RITES, you or your dependents are not entitled to any compensation.
- Confidentiality: you come under the Official Secrets Act, 1923, and need RITES permission before writing or broadcasting on your assigned subject.
Retired Government servants can be hired only through a competitive process, for specific tasks and a specific period (GFR 2017, Rule 177). Anyone already working must be properly relieved from the parent organisation before joining.
