What is the Eligibility for UPPSC Assistant Professor & Professor 2026?
Educational Qualification
The essential qualification is printed separately for every speciality, but the pattern is the same. You must hold a recognised medical degree in the speciality applied for:
- M.D. or M.S. in the concerned subject
- D.M. or M.Ch. where the post belongs to a super-speciality department
- DNB or DrNB in the concerned speciality
- M.Sc. with Ph.D. in the relevant pre-clinical or para-clinical subject
- Knowledge of Hindi is compulsory
The prescribed experience is also needed. For Assistant Professor, the usual demand is one year as Senior Resident after the degree; a Tutor holding a post-graduate degree, or a Demonstrator holding an M.Sc. and a Ph.D., counts as equal. For Professor, the pattern is three years as Associate Professor, two research publications as one of the first three authors, and the Basic Course in Biomedical Research.
