Salary & Benefits: Bihar Police Constable Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be appointed as Constables in the Bihar Police/Bihar Special Armed Police under Pay Level 3 of the pay matrix.

  • Pay Scale: ₹21,700 – ₹69,100 per month.

Selection Process: Stages of Recruitment

The selection process for the Bihar Police Constable post involves multiple stages:

  1. Phase 1: Written Examination (Qualifying)
    • Mode: OMR Based.
    • Level: 10th (Matric) standard.
    • Subjects: Hindi, English, Mathematics, Social Science (History, Geography, Civics, Economics), Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), General Knowledge & Current Affairs.
    • Total Marks: 100.
    • Total Questions: 100 (1 mark each).
    • Duration: 2 Hours.
    • Qualifying Marks: Minimum 30%.
    • Note: This stage is qualifying in nature. Marks obtained will not be considered for the final merit list. Candidates scoring below 30% will be disqualified. Candidates equal to 5 times the number of vacancies (category-wise) will be shortlisted for the PET.
  2. Phase 2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) (Merit Based)
    • Total Marks: 100.
    • This stage is mandatory and qualifying. The final merit list will be prepared based on the total marks obtained in the three PET events.
    • Events:
      • Running (50 Marks):
        • Males: 1.6 km in 6 minutes. Marks vary based on time taken (e.g., <5 min = 50 marks, 5:40-6:00 min = 20 marks). Exceeding 6 mins leads to disqualification.
        • Females: 1 km in 5 minutes. Marks vary based on time taken (e.g., <4 min = 50 marks, 4:40-5:00 min = 20 marks). Exceeding 5 mins leads to disqualification.
      • Shot Put (Gola Fek) (25 Marks):
        • Males: 16-pound ball, minimum 16 feet. Marks based on distance (e.g., 16-17 ft = 9 marks, >20 ft = 25 marks). Less than 16 ft leads to disqualification.
        • Females: 12-pound ball, minimum 12 feet. Marks based on distance (e.g., 12-13 ft = 9 marks, >16 ft = 25 marks). Less than 12 ft leads to disqualification.
      • High Jump (25 Marks):
        • Males: Minimum 4 feet. Marks based on height (e.g., 4 ft = 13 marks, 5 ft = 25 marks). Failure to clear 4 ft leads to disqualification.
        • Females: Minimum 3 feet. Marks based on height (e.g., 3 ft = 13 marks, 4 ft = 25 marks). Failure to clear 3 ft leads to disqualification.
    • Note: Candidates must qualify separately in all three events. A maximum of three attempts will be given for Shot Put and High Jump. Physical measurements (height, chest, weight) will also be checked, and failure to meet standards leads to disqualification.
  3. Phase 3: Document Verification & Medical Examination
