Eligibility Criteria for HAL Apprenticeship

Candidates must meet the following criteria to be eligible:

  • Nationality: Must be an Indian national.
  • Domicile: Must belong to Odisha State.
  • Educational Qualification:
    • Graduate (Technical): Regular 4 Years/3 Years (Lateral Entry) B.E/B.Tech degree in the respective engineering branch from a recognized University/Board.
    • Graduate (Non-Technical): Regular 3 Years B.A/B.Com./B.Sc./B.B.A/B.C.A degree from a recognized University.
    • Diploma (Technician): Regular 3 Years/2 years (Lateral Entry) Diploma in the respective branch, approved by the State Board of Technical Education & AICTE.
  • Year of Passing: Candidates must have passed their qualifying examination (Degree/Diploma) in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, or 2024 only.
  • Certificate: Must possess the passing certificate at the time of application. Candidates appearing or awaiting results are not eligible.
  • Prior Training: Candidates who have undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training elsewhere are not eligible.
  • Reservation: Reservations apply as per Government of Odisha/HAL guidelines. PwBD candidates need a minimum of 40% disability. OBC candidates require a Non-Creamy Layer certificate not older than 6 months (SEBC certificates are not considered). EWS candidates need a valid Income and Asset Certificate.

Salary (Stipend) & Benefits

  • Stipend: Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as per the following rates:
    • Graduate (Technical & Non-Technical) Apprentices: ₹9000 
    • Diploma (Technician) Apprentices: ₹8000 
  • Payment: 50% of the stipend will be paid by HAL, and the remaining 50% will be paid by NATS (2.0) via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the candidate’s Aadhaar-seeded bank account.
  • Other Benefits:
    • Hostel facility may be provided to outstation candidates subject to availability after joining.
    • A working lunch is currently provided to apprentices in the factory canteen on a courtesy basis.
    • Note: No TA/DA will be paid for attending the selection process.

Selection Process

The selection of apprentices will involve the following stages:

  1. Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on the marks obtained in their qualifying examination (Degree/Diploma). HAL reserves the right to raise eligibility criteria to manage the number of applicants.
  2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for physical document verification. Candidates must produce original documents for scrutiny. Failure to do so or providing incorrect information can lead to cancellation of candidature. If CGPA is used, a valid university conversion formula proof is required.
  3. Joining: Candidates who successfully clear document verification will be informed about joining the apprenticeship training. All correspondence will be through the registered email ID.

How to Apply for HAL Apprentice Recruitment 2025

Follow these steps carefully to apply:

  1. NATS 2.0 Registration: Firstly, candidates MUST register themselves on the NATS 2.0 Portal. Obtain your unique “Student ID/Enrollment ID”. If already registered on the old NATS portal, migration to NATS 2.0 is required. Candidates with Engineering graduation after Diploma must register/upgrade as Engineering Graduates on the portal. Ensure your name on the portal matches your Aadhaar and certificates. Upload required documents (Aadhaar, Degree/Diploma Certificate, Bank Passbook) to your NATS profile.
  2. Fill Google Form: Access the online application Google Form. This can be found in the Career tab of the HAL website under the relevant advertisement title, or directly via this link.
  3. Enter Details: Fill in all the required details accurately in the Google Form, including your NATS 2.0 Enrollment ID. Indicate the aggregate percentage of marks (convert CGPA if necessary).
  4. Upload Documents: Upload necessary supporting documents, especially for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD) and HAL wards.
  5. Submit: Submit the completed Google Form. You should see a confirmation message: “Thank You ! Your Form is Submitted Successfully!”. An acknowledgement will also be sent to your registered email.
  6. Deadline: Ensure the application is submitted on or before 25.04.2025.
