How Many Vacancies Are There in DHFWS Birbhum Recruitment 2026?
The reservation split changes from post to post, so check your own row. Category labels such as UR (EC) and EWS (EC) are kept exactly as printed in the notification.

Notice that the two single-seat posts, STLS and TBHV, are open to Unreserved candidates only. Medical Officer GDMO (RKSK) has no Unreserved seat outside the EC quota. The summary table in the notice names STLS and TBHV in the opposite order to its detail pages, but each carries one seat.
Two posts carry extra conditions. Community Health Assistant is for female candidates only, and both CHA and BPC need a permanent resident of Birbhum. For CHA, proof of residence attested by a Gazetted Officer or Group A officer must be shown at verification. Do not apply for these two if you live in another district, even if you hold the degree.
What Is the Eligibility for DHFWS Birbhum Recruitment 2026?
Educational Qualification
All qualifications must be from a recognised institute or university.
| Post | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Multi Rehabilitation Worker | Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy with at least 2 years of hospital experience. Master degree in Physiotherapy is desirable |
| Staff Nurse | GNM course from an institute recognised by the Indian Nursing Council or West Bengal Nursing Council, plus WBNC registration or provisional certificate |
| Community Health Assistant (female only) | ANM, or GNM, from an INC-recognised institute, registered with WBNC. Proficient in Bengali, resident of Birbhum |
| STLS | Graduate with DMLT or BMLT from a government recognised institution, permanent two-wheeler licence, and working knowledge of MS Word and Excel |
| TBHV | Science graduate, at least 1 completed year as MPW, LHV, ANM or health worker, and a computer course of at least two months |
| Medical Officer GDMO (all three) | MBBS from any medical college. For a foreign MBBS, the FMG exam score counts as the final MBBS score |
| Block Programme Coordinator (ASHA) | Master’s in Social Science, Sociology, Social Anthropology, MSW, MBA, Economics, Rural Development or Mass Communication, or any graduate degree, plus a one-year computer application diploma. Must be a Birbhum resident |
Some extras help but are not compulsory: a Master in Physiotherapy for MRW, MPW training for TBHV, one year in a National Health Programme for STLS, and ASHA programme experience for BPC. Experience is counted only after you finish the required qualification, up to the last date of online application.
Read the qualification row twice before you pay the fee. A Staff Nurse candidate needs West Bengal Nursing Council registration or its provisional certificate; a CHA candidate needs WBNC registration. A physiotherapist needs two years of hospital work, not just the degree, so a fresh BPT graduate is not eligible for the MRW post.
Age Limit
| Post | Age as on 1 January 2026 |
|---|---|
| All posts except BPC (ASHA) | 21 to 40 years |
| Block Programme Coordinator (ASHA) | Maximum 40 years |

Age relaxation is given to SC, ST and OBC candidates as per government norms. The notification does not list the number of years.
What Is the Salary for DHFWS Birbhum Recruitment 2026?

| Post | Monthly Pay |
|---|---|
| Medical Officer GDMO (all three posts) | Rs 60,000 |
| Staff Nurse (NUHM/15th FC) | Rs 25,000 |
| STLS | Rs 25,000 |
| Multi Rehabilitation Worker | Rs 18,000 |

What Is the Selection Process for DHFWS Birbhum Recruitment 2026?
Selection is merit based, built on a points scale for each post. The notification keeps a few stages that apply to some posts only.
| Post | How marks are given |
|---|---|
| Multi Rehabilitation Worker | 50 marks: Class X 10, Class XII 10, BPT 10, MPT 5 extra, experience 10, interview 5. Interview after paper verification |
| Staff Nurse | 80 marks for academics (Class X 30, Class XII 30, GNM 20) plus up to 20 for clinical experience |
| Community Health Assistant | Purely on merit, using the percentage in ANM or GNM |
| STLS | 50 marks: Class X 5, Class XII 10, graduation with DMLT or BMLT 15, experience 10, computer practical test 10 |
| TBHV | 50 marks: Class X 5, Class XII 10, graduation 15, MPW training 5 extra, experience 10, computer practical test 5 |
| Medical Officer GDMO | MBBS 85 marks plus interview 15 marks |
| Block Programme Coordinator (ASHA) | Document scrutiny, then academics, experience, written test 10 and computer test 10 |
For STLS and TBHV, only candidates shortlisted on academics and experience are called ahead, in a 1:20 ratio. Experience marks for MRW, STLS and TBHV are higher for government service than for private service, so keep your experience certificates ready. For Class X and Class XII percentages in STLS and TBHV, extra subjects whose marks above the pass mark are added to the aggregate are not counted. The panel stays valid for up to 1 year from approval.
Medical Officer posts are judged almost entirely on your MBBS marks, with only 15 marks for the interview, so a strong MBBS score matters most. Staff Nurse seats go on Class X, Class XII and GNM marks plus experience; CHA seats on the ANM or GNM percentage alone. For MRW, STLS and TBHV, experience marks rise in bands up to 5 years, so count your service carefully.
