Salary and Benefits for NAL Technical Assistant
Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level 6 of the Pay Matrix as per the 7th CPC.
- Pay Scale: ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400
- Approximate Total Emoluments: ₹70,000 per month (including DA, HRA, TA applicable to Bengaluru).

NAL Technical Assistant Selection Process 2025
The selection process involves the following stages:
- Screening: Applications will be screened based on the information provided.
- Trade Test: Shortlisted candidates recommended by the Screening Committee will be invited for a Trade Test. This test is qualifying in nature.
- Competitive Written Examination: Candidates who qualify the Trade Test will appear for a Competitive Written Examination. The examination will be OMR Based or Computer Based Objective Type Multiple Choice.
- Structure: Three Papers (Total 200 Questions, 3 Hours).
- Paper I (1 Hour): Mental Ability Test (50 Qs, 100 Marks, No Negative Marking). Includes General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Problem Solving, Situational Judgement etc..
- Paper II (30 Minutes): General Awareness (25 Qs, 75 Marks) & English Language (25 Qs, 75 Marks). Negative marking: One mark deducted for each wrong answer.
- Paper III (90 Minutes): Concerned Subject (100 Qs, 300 Marks). Negative marking: One mark deducted for each wrong answer.
- Evaluation: Paper II & III will only be evaluated for candidates securing minimum threshold marks in Paper I.
- Medium: English and Hindi (except for the English Language section).
- Standard: Diploma/Graduation Level.
- Structure: Three Papers (Total 200 Questions, 3 Hours).
- Merit List: The final merit list will be prepared based only on the marks obtained in Paper II and Paper III.
- Document Verification: Candidates will need to produce original documents for verification when asked.
