Only experience in MCI/NMC/UGC-recognised institutions counts, and only experience gained after your postgraduate degree or Ph.D. DNB holders must show NMC equivalence (notification dated 14.02.2022). If your DNB hospital had fewer than 500 beds, you need one extra year of senior residency, so an Assistant Professor applicant needs 4 years in total. Teaching experience must be in the concerned specialty from an NMC/MCI-recognised medical college; where recognition came from a particular year, experience prior to that is not considered. Age is counted on 7 November 2026. Even after combining relaxations, the limit cannot cross 55 years.
