Salary and Benefits for BSSC Field Assistant
Selected candidates for the Field Assistant post will be placed in the Pay Level-02 pay scale (Corresponding to the pre-revised Pay Band of ₹5200-20200 with Grade Pay ₹1900). Selection Process
The selection process for the BSSC Field Assistant position involves the following stages:
- Preliminary Examination (Objective Type):

- It will consist of one paper on General Knowledge.
- Pattern: 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

- (b) General Science and Mathematics: (Matric level) Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography. Number system, computation of whole numbers, decimals and fractions, relationships between numbers, fundamental arithmetical operations,2 percentage, ratio and proportion, average, interest, profit3 and loss.
- (c) Mental Ability Test (Comprehension/Logic/Reasoning/Mental Ability): Verbal and non-verbal reasoning, analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, problem-solving, analysis, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, arithmetical number series, coding and decoding.
- Qualifying Marks: Minimum qualifying percentages are set category-wise (e.g., General 40%, BC 36.5%, SC/ST/Women/PwD 32%).
- Main Examination:
- Candidates qualifying the Preliminary Exam (approximately 5 times the number of vacancies) will be eligible for the Main Examination.
- Details and pattern for the Main Examination will be published separately by BSSC.
