Eligibility Criteria for NPCIL Apprentice Recruitment 2025

Candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria regarding education and age limit as of the cut-off date (30/04/2025).

Educational Qualification

  • Trade Apprentice (ITI): Must possess an ITI Pass Certificate in the relevant trade from a recognized institution. Qualification must be full-time/regular.
  • Diploma Apprentice: Must possess a Diploma Pass Certificate in Engineering or Technology in the relevant discipline, granted by a State Council/Board of Technical Education/University/Institute recognized by the State or Central Government. Qualification must be full-time/regular.
  • Graduate Apprentice (Non-Engineering): Must possess a Graduate Degree (BA, B.Sc., B.Com., etc.) in non-engineering or general streams from a College/University recognized by AICTE/UGC/State Government/Central Government. Qualification must be full-time/regular.

Age Limit (as of 30/04/2025)

  • Trade Apprentice (ITI): 18 to 24 years.
  • Diploma Apprentice: 18 to 25 years.
  • Graduate Apprentice (Non-Engineering): 18 to 26 years.
  • Age Relaxation: Applicable for reserved categories as per Government of India orders: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (NCL), and 10 years for PwBD candidates.

Salary & Benefits (Stipend) of Apprentice Trainees in NPCIL

Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend during the training period (maximum 1 year):

  • Trade Apprentice (ITI – 1 year course): ₹ 7,700/- per month 
  • Trade Apprentice (ITI – 2 year course): ₹ 8,050/- per month 
  • Diploma Apprentice: ₹ 8,000/- per month 
  • Graduate Apprentice (Non-Engineering): ₹ 9,000/- per month 

Selection Process

The selection process for NPCIL Apprentice Recruitment 2025 involves the following stages:

  1. Merit List: Selection will be based on the marks obtained by the candidate in their ITI, Diploma, or Degree qualification. A merit list will be prepared for each trade/discipline.
  2. Preference: Preference will be given to applicants residing within a 16 km radius of the Madras Atomic Power Station site. If vacancies remain, other candidates will be considered based on merit.
  3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates based on merit will be called for Document Verification. Final selection is subject to medical fitness.
