Educational Qualification
You must hold one of the following from a Central/State Government-recognised institution:
- Bachelor of Engineering / B.Tech in: Telecommunications / Electronics / Radio / Computer / Electrical / IT / Instrumentation

- OR M.Tech in any of the above prescribed disciplines

What is the Salary for BSNL JTO 2026?
JTO joins in the BSNL Executive Cadre with attractive PSU-style pay and benefits.
- Pay Scale: IDA Pay Scale E-1 (Rs 16,400 – Rs 40,500)
- Pay Basis: 2nd PRC pay scale w.e.f. 01.01.2007
- Allowances: DA, HRA (city-classification based), Transport Allowance, Medical reimbursement
- Service Benefits: NPS, EPF, LTC, leave encashment, gratuity, official quarters where available
Combined with allowances, the approximate gross monthly emoluments for a fresh JTO range between Rs 60,000 – Rs 75,000 depending on city classification — among the highest entry-level engineering pay packets in any PSU.
Service Bond: Selected candidates must execute a Rs 6,00,000 service bond to serve BSNL for a minimum 5 years. Probation period is 2 years with 20 weeks of pre-appointment training (Phase-I 10 weeks + field 4 weeks + Phase-II 6 weeks).
What is the Selection Process for BSNL JTO 2026?
Selection is via BSNL’s own Computer-Based Test (CBT) — NOT through GATE. The selection has four clear stages:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT) — 3 hours, 120 questions, 480 marks
- Document Verification at the declared merit-list stage
- Pre-appointment Phase-I Training with a qualifying examination
- Medical Examination as per BSNL standards
