GSSC Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must ensure they fulfill the eligibility criteria regarding educational qualifications, age limit, and other requirements as of the last date of application.
Educational Qualifications & Experience:
- Assistant Teacher:
- Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks (or 45%) in the relevant subject and B.Ed. OR Four years B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed.
- Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) Certificate recognized by the Government of Goa.
- Knowledge of Konkani is essential; knowledge of Marathi is desirable.
- Drawing Teachers in Secondary Schools:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art (B.F.A.) OR S.S.C. with Diploma/Certificate in Art and Drawing (minimum 3 years course) and 3 years teaching experience.
- Knowledge of Konkani is essential; knowledge of Marathi is desirable.
- Trained English Teacher (Govt Primary School):
- Bachelor’s Degree (Arts, Science, or Commerce) with English as the first language at Secondary and Higher Secondary level.
- B.Ed. with English teaching methodology.
- Knowledge of Konkani is essential; knowledge of Marathi is desirable.
- Librarian Grade – I:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Degree in Library Science (one-year course after graduation).

Age Limit:

- Police Sub Inspector: Not exceeding 28 years.

Salary & Benefits (Pay Scale)
The pay scale for the GSSC Group C posts varies according to the post level as per the CCS Revised Pay Rules, 2016:
- Level – 7: Assistant Teacher, Drawing Teachers in Secondary Schools
- Level – 6: Trained English Teacher in Government Primary School, Police Sub Inspector, Technical Assistant (Civil), Technical Assistant (Mechanical/Electrical), Technical Assistant (Computer/Electronics/Information Technology), Programmer, Technical Officer (IT)
- Level – 5: Librarian Grade – I, Junior Technical Officer
Allowances and other perks will be as per Government of Goa norms.
GSSC Group C Selection Process 2025
The selection process will primarily involve a Computer Based Test (CBT). The Commission will shortlist/select candidates based on merit, determined by the marks obtained in the CBT.
- General Process:
- Computer Based Test (CBT): For all posts. Syllabus and scheme of examination are published on the GSSC website.
- Negative Marking: Not applicable for CBT.
- Minimum Passing Marks for CBT:
- Unreserved: 45%
- OBC/PwD: 40%
- SC/ST: 35%
- Test of Konkani Language: Passing is mandatory (minimum 4 out of 10 marks) for most posts. For Assistant Teacher (Konkani), minimum 40% in the Test of Konkani language (out of 40 marks) is required.
- Compensatory Time: PwD candidates will be allowed 20 minutes of compensatory time in the CBT.
- Tie-Breaking: If marks are equal, the older candidate will be given precedence.
- Specific Processes for Certain Posts:
- Assistant Teacher, Drawing Teacher, Trained English Teacher (Posts 1, 2, 3):
- Screening Test: May be conducted if the number of applicants for Assistant Teacher (any subject) exceeds 1300.
- Class Demonstration: 10 marks, for candidates shortlisted after CBT (twice the number of vacancies).
- Merit List: Based on combined CBT and Class Demonstration scores.
- Librarian Grade I (Post 4): Single tier CBT.
- Police Sub Inspector (Post 5):
- CBT-I: For shortlisting for Physical Endurance Test (PET).
- Physical Endurance Test (PET): Qualifying nature, no marks. Details of PET are provided in the notification.
- CBT-II: For deciding merit, for candidates who qualify PET.
- NCC Certificate: Additional marks for ‘A’, ‘B’, or ‘C’ certificates in CBT-II.
- Technical Assistant (Posts 6, 7, 8), Programmer (Post 9), Technical Officer (IT) (Post 10), Junior Technical Officer (Post 11):
- Common CBT-I: For all these posts.
- CBT-II: Candidates shortlisted (fifteen times the posts) based on CBT-I merit. Common CBT-II for posts 8 to 11. Recommendation for Post 11 after offers for Posts 8-10 are accepted.
- Assistant Teacher, Drawing Teacher, Trained English Teacher (Posts 1, 2, 3):
- Document Verification: Will be part of the process as per standard government procedures.
