Eligibility Criteria for TPSC Senior Technical Assistant

Candidates must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the Senior Technical Assistant post:

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Must possess at least a 3-year Diploma in Information Technology / Electronics & Communication Engineering / Computer Science Engineering OR a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) degree from a UGC recognized University or AICTE approved Institution.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 01 year of experience in handling treasury software, software development, or software testing is required. This experience should be from a Government Institution, Government Undertaking, or a company registered under the Company Registration Act.
  • Citizenship: Must be a bonafide citizen of India.
  • Residency: Must possess a Permanent Resident Certificate of Tripura (PRTC).
  • Desirable: Knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok is desirable.
  • Age Limit:
    • Candidates must be up to 40 years of age as of May 13, 2025.
    • Age relaxation of 5 years is applicable for SC/ST/PwD candidates and Government Servants. Government employees belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories will not receive relaxation over and above the general 5-year relaxation already available to them.

Salary and Benefits: TPSC Senior Technical Assistant Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be placed in the Pay Band-2 (PB-2) scale of Rs. 5,700 – 24,000/- with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2,800/-. This corresponds to Level 9 of Schedule-I of the Tripura State Pay Matrix 2018. The pay is subject to revision by the Government from time to time. Other allowances and benefits will be applicable as per Government of Tripura norms.

Selection Process: TPSC Recruitment Procedure

The selection process involves the following stages:

  1. Written Examination (MCQ Based):
    • Total Marks: 90 
    • Number of Questions: 90 (1 mark each) 
    • Subject: Computer Science and Information Technology (Detailed syllabus in Annexure-G of notification )
    • Duration: 120 Minutes (2 Hours) 
    • Negative Marking: 1/4th mark deducted for each wrong answer. No penalty for unanswered questions.
    • Qualifying Marks: 35 for UR, 30 for SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen categories.
  2. Interview/Personality Test:
    • Total Marks: 10 
    • Candidates qualifying the written exam will be called for the Interview/Personality Test based on merit and reservation category, in a ratio determined by the number of vacancies (e.g., 5 candidates for 1 vacancy, 8 for 2, 3 times the vacancies for 3 or more).
    • Parameters Judged: Knowledge in the field, analytical power, professional attitude, communication skills, general knowledge, current affairs, emotional attitude/ethics, and knowledge of desirable qualifications.
  3. Document Verification: After the written test results, successful candidates will need to submit self-attested copies of required documents (Age proof, Educational Certificates & Marksheets, Caste/PH/Ex-SM certificate (if applicable), PRTC, Experience Certificate). Final verification occurs during the process.
  4. Final Merit List: Prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained in the Written Examination and the Interview/Personality Test. Seniority in age, and then marks in the minimum educational qualification, will be used to resolve ties.
