  • Educational Qualification:

Selection Process: Written Exam & Typing Test

The selection process for the CSIR NGRI JSA posts involves the following stages:

  1. Screening: Applications will be screened based on the information provided.
  2. Competitive Written Examination: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an OMR-based or Computer-Based Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination. The exam consists of two papers:
    • Paper-I: Mental Ability Test (100 questions, 200 marks, 90 minutes). Includes General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Problem Solving, Situational Judgement, etc. No negative marking.
    • Paper-II: General Awareness (50 questions, 150 marks) and English Language (50 questions, 150 marks). Total time: 1 hour. Negative marking: One negative mark for each wrong answer.
    • Exam Standard: Class XII.
    • Medium: Questions (except English Language) will be in both English and Hindi. Candidates must choose their preferred medium (Hindi/English) for the exam/typing test during application.
    • Evaluation: Paper-II will only be evaluated for candidates who secure minimum threshold marks (decided by the Selection Committee) in Paper-I.
  3. Typing Test (Qualifying): Candidates who qualify the written exam based on Paper-II marks will be called for a typing test on the computer. Proficiency in typing (English: 35 wpm / Hindi: 30 wpm) is mandatory and qualifying in nature.
  4. Final Merit List: The final merit list will be prepared based only on the marks obtained in Paper-II of the written examination, for candidates who qualify the typing test.
  5. Document Verification: Candidates shortlisted in the merit list will undergo document verification.
