Eligibility Criteria for NCRTC O&M Staff

Candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria regarding age and educational qualifications as of March 24, 2025.

Nationality: Must be an Indian National above 18 years of age.
Age Limit: Maximum age is 25 years as of 24/03/2025. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories (SC/ST: 5 years, OBC-NCL: 3 years, PwBD: 10/13/15 years, Ex-Servicemen: As per Govt. rules). The maximum age after all relaxations cannot exceed 50 years.
Educational Qualifications: Only full-time regular courses from recognized institutions are considered.
- Junior Engineer (Electrical): 3 Years Diploma in Electrical Engineering. (BE/B.Tech also permitted ).
- Junior Engineer (Electronics): 3 Years Diploma in Electronics Engineering. (BE/B.Tech also permitted ). Mapped disciplines include Electronics, Electrical & Electronics, E&C, CS&E, Computer Engg., CS, IT, Instrumentation & Control, Electronics & Instrumentation.
- Junior Engineer (Mechanical): 3 Years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. (BE/B.Tech also permitted ). Mapped disciplines include Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Industrial, Machining, Tools & Machining, Tools & Die Making.
- Junior Engineer (Civil): 3 Years Diploma in Civil Engineering. (BE/B.Tech also permitted ).
- Programming Associate: 3 Years Diploma in Computer Sc./IT/BCA/ B.Sc. (Computer Sc.)/ B.Sc. (IT).
- Assistant (HR): 3 Years Graduation in BBA/BBM.
- Assistant (Corporate Hospitality): Graduate in Hotel Management or equivalent.
- Junior Maintainer (Electrical): ITI (NCVT/SCVT) Certificate in Electrician trade or Equivalent. Higher qualifications without ITI are not considered for this post.
- Junior Maintainer (Mechanical): ITI (NCVT/SCVT) Certificate in Fitter trade or equivalent. Higher qualifications without ITI are not considered for this post.

Salary and Benefits in NCRTC

Selected candidates will be offered attractive pay scales along with allowances and benefits as per NCRTC rules.

Allowances: Includes Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Perks/Allowances under Cafeteria Approach.

Probation: Selected candidates will be on probation for two years.
Surety Bond: A surety bond of Rs. 1,50,000/- (plus training cost & GST) is required, committing to serve NCRTC for a minimum period of 1.5 years.

NCRTC Selection Process

The selection process involves the following stages:

Computer Based Test (CBT):
- Objective type test.
- Option to take the test in Hindi or English.
- Total Questions: 100.
- Total Marks: 100 (1 mark per correct answer).
- Negative Marking: No negative marking.
- Duration: 90 minutes.
- Syllabus: Will be available on the NCRTC website.
- Test Centers: Delhi-NCR, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai (Choice preference required during application).
Medical Examination: Candidates shortlisted based on CBT performance will undergo a medical fitness test as per Indian Railway Medical Manual standards, prescribed by NCRTC. Initial medical exam expenses are borne by NCRTC.
Document Verification: Eligibility and original documents will be verified before the final selection.
